Are there mods on these forums?

It seems the filth from GS, Game FAQ's and other sites has seeped into here faster than I thought. There are trolls everywhere.

Are there mods on this site yet? Because they really need them...

There is only one as far as I know, I think the site could do with at least 5.

There are no moderators right now other than CK and the staff themselves, but I believe this problem will be solved soon.

No need for two topics. What we do need are mods and I think most would agree.

No reporting tools either, but the staff are currently working on it. We just need to be patient.

They're probably concentrating on making sure the site is working right, they'll deal with it eventually.

Well there only seem to be one mod and hes not doing a great job.

I'm going to assume there is no moderating tools yet, because there are no reporting tools yet.

God, I'd be a mod even just a temp one to stop the bloody trolling. This forum is like if GS had no mods at the moment.

All we can do on these forums is rate how good/bad peoples posts are and shield them from view kinda like Youtube's spam options

Every now and then I see messages that say "deleted by the mods". Which is funny because it doesn't seem to stop the spam.

That message appears when you delete your own post, so that's what you're seeing probably.

The reason I like NeoGAF so much is the strict moderation.  I don't want this place to turn into crazy-ville.  Hopefully they develop a strong mod policy to clean up the riff raff.

There are currently not any. There will be soon though I hope. The countless "sexy" threads by that one guy and DaWhiteAsian (finally was banned) are getting on my nerves.

Yeah, considering the fact there is no moderation, I think it is not so bad. I've seen way worse on sites that have moderation in full effect. Also, you don't have to read those threads, you know. As a matter of fact, I've been here all day and haven't seen a single disturbing picture yet.
That said, it's just a matter of time before all the mess will be cleaned up by the new mods. Just have some patience.
