" I am of the belief that logic dictates that both are true. Here's the sentential sequence of that theorem: A thing, divided by 2, becomes 2 things Once divided, the two things can exhibit contradictory properties Ergo, a thing can be a thing, while a non-thing can be a non-thing. Ergo, if a glass is filled halfway with water, the other half must be occupied by something else. In this case emptiness. Therefore a glass is half empty AND half-full without defying the law of identity (i.e. a thing is a thing, it cannot be a non-thing.) Actually, if we're gonna get really technical, a glass half-filled with water on planet earth is half-filled with water, and half-mixed with a mixture of gases some refer to as "air". So yeah, a glass (on earth, in an environment in which humans can survive) is always full, even if it's only half-filled with water, and even if there is no water in it. I guess that makes me more of an optimist than the people who like to think the glass is only half-full. "MIND... OFFICIALLY BLOWN
Are you a glass half full or half empty kind of person?
Most of the time, half-full, but I'm a worry-wart as well so I flip back and forth. Let's say I am a half-empty guy until whatever problem I've imagined actually happens then I become a half-full guy.
It depends on the situation. If the liquid has been poured into the glass then the glass is half full. However, if liquid has been poured out then it is half empty.
