I think it be cool if Madvillain and Queens of the Stone Age put out new albums this year also maybe Them Crooked Vultures. Who else would you like new music from this year or in General?

#2 Posted by Example1013 (4807 posts) -

NWA

#3 Posted by Brians (1465 posts) -
@example1013:  Would their music still be good 20 years later with one of the members dead?

Beck.

I'd say The Shins too, if Mercer wasn't wrapped up in his boring-ass Danger Mouse project. I'm guessing he doesn't care about the group anymore.

@Briguile: That was sort of why I said it. For some reason I thought it was more than just Eazy.

So I'll submit, instead, Tupac.
#8 Posted by Brians (1465 posts) -
@example1013:  That's a fine reason I just was thinking it might not be as easy for them to make a new album what with Detox rapidly turning into the audio equivalent of Duke Nukem Forever

Scissor Sisters, Weird Al and Empire of the Sun.

Detox is coming out this year, I'm sure. They've released two singles fairly recently. (and one of them was even good)

@Briguile: Honestly I don't think NWA will ever get back together. I think they're done, and they have been since Dre left for Death Row.
#14 Posted by Brians (1465 posts) -
@pantzing_nome: I knew about QOTSA but not Them Crooked Vultures thanks for letting me know.

Joke?

That's a Strokes song.

Ever Clear and Stroke 9. I really enjoyed Stroke 9. What's wrong with me?

It would be nice if The Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly each put out a new album.

My Vitriol is the band I want to come back the most, they were so loved by so many people it's insane they only ever released one album.

This, and a new Dead Can Dance album at some point would be very much appreciated as well.

Holy fucking shit, this is the Duke Nukem Forever of metal albums! How long have they been working on their last album, ten years now? I was so stoked that I was gonna see them in Bloodstock 2009 but they had to cancel so they could finish the album, and it's not even bloody out yet!!!

Also would love to see a new Warlord album, goddamn those guys wrote awesome music.

And a SpiRitual album as well, those guys released only an EP, and it was stonking great.

A new Keldian album would be nice.

And a new Summoning album, its been 5 years since the last one.
#24 Posted by FancySoapsMan (5818 posts) -

I'm still waiting for My Bloody Valentine to release another album.

I'd like to see some new shit from Cage Kennylz, preferably going back to the Hell's Winter era of his career.

Edit: I almost forgot about Dr. Dre, he just needs to announce a date for Detox already, I mean for fuck's sake...

thats a good answer.. they are a good band who havent released anything in 4 years, so it makes sense. not too crazy about your other answers tho :P

#33 Posted by neozeke (378 posts) -
@Ahmad_Metallic: Isn't Opeth doing a new disk this year? I know Meshuggah,Protest the Hero, Between the Buried and Me, Scale The Summit and Devin Townsend are doing new things, so it's going to be an amazing year for prog metal!

@CharkeeFarlee: Dude, a years nothing try waiting 3 years and the new album sucks horrifically (eyes on you After the Burial......)

Need some new Kimya Dawson. She made some christmas album with a bunch of random peeps last year, and before that in -08 she made an album full of kid's songs. I want some good ol' fashioned soulful stuff instead of these things. She uploaded some song to Youtube a while back, hopefully marking the fact that she's back composing.

David Bowie, seriously what is he up to nowadays?

It is very good, but very different. It was produced by Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age)

Took me a few listens to get into it, but it is now maybe my favourite of the three.

As you can probably tell, it i called 'Humbug'.
#43 Posted by TooWalrus (13256 posts) -

Why won't David Bowie make a new album. What a jerk.

#44 Posted by EvilKatarn (465 posts) -

Well, Children of Bodom and Gojira are releasing some new shit this year. I've been getting into some Kyuss recently so Queens of the Stone Age?

Megadeth perhaps? Steve Vai? Warmen? Hell I don't know...

Oh, I know... Chris fucking Kline needs to do something new and awesome.
