Studying for my Masters.
As of right now What is the highest amount of education you have?
In college wasting away, learning information that will probably be of no use when I get out and actually work...
Got my last exams for my degree on the 1st and 3rd of Nov. Been doing a Bachelor of Information Science with a double major in Computer Science and IT, going back to do Honours next year. Might consider doing a Masterate by thesis after I've done that. Do they have Honours degrees in America?
Man, I dropped out of school in the third grade
to get paid
and shoot people worse than Joe Pesci gettin made.
Never finished High school ..... yet I was able to study Audiovisual Media , just a fancy name for movie making .... I have taken some art classes too .... for most of art related stuff you learn more by doing and investigating by yourself than wasting money on over expensive schools
" PhD in neurobiology. @Anthony said:@eternalrift said:" Getting a BA in History at the end of this semester. I foresee a lot of burger flipping in my future. "So your gonna be a teacher then? Cause I don't see any other fields for a History major to go into "
" I'm slaving away at a Ph.D. in Physics right now, and have a couple B.S. degrees under the belt. "Does that make yall really really smart? Or just really really dedicated? I have no plans after I get my BE after my BS. Maybe make some money and pay off my debt.... then go back to school. School is fun.
How sucky is Law school? Be honest? Isn't it read... memorize... read again? "
In all honesty, it isn't that terrible. It is read, read, read, read, and then read again. Once you get used to the idea that you will have to sit and read for 4-6 hours per day, it is manageable. The problem is everything is placed on a very strict bell curve, and if you know even one person in the class who isn't doing as well as you, you are set, because they will get the F. Therefore, people will get pretty cutthroat, and won't want to share notes if you miss class or form study groups, etc.
And then of course getting jobs and internships starts with your first semester GPA, so it turns into this whole GPA war with people fighting tooth and nail for one hundredth of a grade point.
Having said all that, once you get past that stuff, it is actually incredibly interesting and useful. You really do learn how the world works and develop excellent reading and writing skills that are valuable at any job. Anyone who is dedicated and has a real desire to learn could benefit from law school. My comment about history majors being a dime a dozen wasn't meant to discourage, because it is a great way to turn an otherwise useless liberal arts degree into a great paying job. I still say, however, that firms will do ANYTHING for hard science undergrad degrees with law degrees...
A single GCSE (History - A) and a First Diploma at Merit grade in Media Studies. Oh, I'm going places alright.
In my first year of uni, doing a BEng in Motorsport Engineering. I have A levels in Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
On the wall in the classroom where I had my A-Level Economics classes, there was a piece of paper that had everyone's grade on and what they were going to University to study and one of the ultimate punch lines was that one guy was going to a community college to study GNVC Level 1 Care.
