Athene gets account hacked. LIVE!

I dont really care for Athene, personally, but I like watching Diablo to convince myself that I shouldnt play it. Guy's trying to log into his account and pastes his password into the username field. 6,000 people see it. Now his facebook and AtheneIRL youtube channel is getting spammed with porn and a bunch of other crap. Kind of incredible to see this guys internet life fall apart in real time. LIke watching a train wreck.

This is why you should use different passwords for everything.

Not even good porn!

Sad thing is, his viewership has doubled in like 20 minutes.

Don't know who Athene is, but I feel sorry for the guy. In hindsight, he probably shouldn't of been copying and pasting his password in the first place, though.

It's been at least two years since I've heard mention of "Athene". Got into watching his videos after wanting to find something similar to Pure Pwnage.

What a nightmare scenario! Let this be a lesson for people doing livestreams to take extra precautions to not compromise their account information.

Yeah, I just tuned into his stream to watch the train wreck and he even said himself, "Oh no, I'm so cocky and now this happens. The trolls are going to tear me apart." Dude knows he's acting like a douchebag, making it that much worse.

Copying and pasting passwords is a bad idea. Especially if you're doing it on a livestream. Why do that? Was the password an untypeable string?

I feel like such a voyeur now. I ended up starting to watch his livestream and they're all realizing how it's becoming "viral" and how threads are popping up everywhere over what just went down. It's kinda interesting to watch how he's reflecting on everything live.

That sucks, I never took Athene serious the very few times I watched his videos. I just find it odd that someone who watches his stream would do that, I mean if you dislike the guy why watch his stream, if you like him why fuck with him? Idk, that sucks, hope it's a speedy recovery for him.

Thanks Blizzard. People wouldn't have to copy their passwords to the clipboard if you would just fucking allow us to save it when logging in.

Can't comment on what he said in the stream, but from what little I've seen of his videos, I always got the impression he was just doing an act and that he probably wasn't like that at all.

It's because he plays a character. Not his actual self.

Apparently he was trying to write a macro script that would've attempted to log in to his D3 account automatically because of what I'm guessing are server login problems but it backfired and put his password on the same line as his e-mail and that's how this all started. So yeah it is a little inaccurate to say he was "hacked," he just made a huge mistake that compromised his account.

He might be cocky but he seems pretty reasonable (I mean he apparently donates to charity too) so this is unfortunate. At least he is taking it well.
