I've always loved movie posters- have a couple hanging on the walls. I saw a thread on GAF today (and one on Penny Arcade a while back) about the best movie posters and thought it was pretty interesting, and I wondered what posters you all like. Some of my favorites:
Hitchcock's Vertigo:
Episode 1 had a great poster, even if the movie wasn't so rad
The Shawshank Redemption had a great one too

The American Zack and Miri poster has always bemused me because the minimalism is out of irony and nothing else, since the marketing controversies attached to that movie all but forced them to use it. That, and seeing stick figures in a poster makes me wish they were a more common sight in movie marketing.

"As much as I like the art on the ESB posters, I hate how they had to make Han Solo not look like Harrison Ford because at the time he wasn't signed up to the movie.

I hadnt even noticed until you said something, and now I'll never be able to look at it the same again, like the cover of Goldeneye (N64)"As much as I like the art on the ESB posters, I hate how they had to make Han Solo not look like Harrison Ford because at the time he wasn't signed up to the movie. "Yeah, the Shawshank poster rocked."
" @Lies: Both of those posters are fantastic. Vertigo is a great movie and Episode I was meh but, nonetheless, both posters are great.Funny you mentioned that. One of the guys in this movie (who the movie is based on, I think Ray Liotta plays him) actually lives in my town. Crazy huh?
