Anything by a boyband just makes me angry!! Also, Usher and 99% of R&B.;
Bands You Hate
Nickelback fucking ruined rock music by taking any sense of menace or skill out of it. They began what I call "the factory rock" movement, rock that sounds like it was assembled in a factory and then recorded in an abandoned warehouse. I hate them for that, but their personal songs aren't that atrocious, so I'm not gonna post them.
Creed is like if Nickelback was squared, though. Their shit is almost offensively referred to as rock, and gets play on alt-rock stations between Jane's Addiction and Alice in Chains. FUCK CREED, is basically what I'm saying.
Chris Brown is an insufferable prick and should not be allowed to make music anymore. This is mostly because he is a detestable human being, but his music is also nothing special in comparison to dudes like Usher, R. Kelly, even Ne-Yo! So why does he still have a career?!? This song more expresses his prickishness than his usual style, which is whiny generic R&B.
I wish I could like The Smashing Pumpkins, but Billy Corgan's voice just annoys me too much once he starts screaming/howling/cat noises? It's my least-favorite rock vocalist voice. Well, okay, you could probably find somebody worse (BrokenCYDE style) but that band is just going to be garbage all-around, while The Smashing Pumpkins are actually pretty awesome outside of Corgan's voice.
And then, well, there's my granddaddy king of bands I hate. This one was not an instantaneous thing, but more a slow burn. Every time somebody would ask me why I didn't love one band or another, I'd say something like, "Well, they're all just showing off, and I prefer drummers that keep to the backbeat and support everyone else in the band. It's kind of the same problem I have with Rush." Rush is a band of extremely talented people who have written a few great songs that don't fall to their usual traps; Spirit of the Radio, Tom Sawyer, Limelight, these are EXCELLENT songs. But most of the time, it's like a competition to show off who's the best, and in doing so they forever lose me. Geddy Lee's voice is insufferable and is at times worse than Corgan's howl. Neil Peart's drumming is the most ridiculous showoff-y nonsense I've ever heard, and they write their songs around Peart and Lee competing for backbeat stardom rather than trying to actually write a decent goddamned song. "Fly By Night" is probably the epitome of my problems with the band, especially because there's definitely a decent song being drowned by the fact that everyone is playing a different song.
I don't really hate any bands, but I find most indie rock type stuff to be extremely boring and the people in the bands suck.
@Little_Socrates: Nickelback is an easy punching bag, but I still think they make decent music, if slightly generic and rock-ballady.
As for The Smashing Pumpkins, they definitely aren't for everyone - Billy Corgan's voice is the definition of divisive. When he's screaming, it can be annoying, but when he opts for slower songs it works much better. Assuming you don't know their catalog, check out '1979' or their cover of 'Landslide'. Alternatively, check out Stephen Lynch's "What If The Guy From The Smashing Pumpkins Lost His Car Keys". You can probably guess what happens.
@CH3BURASHKA: I'm familiar with 1979, and the high-pitched parts of that aren't better, but he does have a lot of vocals on that song that aren't so annoying. I'll listen to Landslide by just about anybody, so I'll check that out. And I'm sad I haven't heard that Lynch bit, 'cause I love Lynch.
Nickelback's music is decent at best, but it's always mediocre at worst because that's pretty much their target. I think they're more to blame for changing the rock landscape than actually writing bad songs.

Muthafucking Gotye, I hate this song with the rage of a thousand sodomized hell beast. From the constant airplay to the myriad of shitty status updates about somebody that they used to know. It pains me that my favourite station plays it occasionally.
i like that song cuz it sounds like The police might have made it and you cant hate the police (the band that is)
I don't like Guns and Roses. Axl Rose is a terrible singer. I feel the need to say this whenever the opportunity arises.
Just about all R&B, Rap and Hip-Hop.
I don't feel like giving reasons or linking songs.
Subjectivity blah blah..
I dont like rappers , hip hop , jazz , reggeaton , Banda , Norteña (or most of latin american style of music .... and before you say anything Im am from Mexico) but 1 band I do hate a lot is Rage Against the Machine .... I just hate the way the songs are made and the whole style of the band , and to add insult to injury my brother liked it a lot ... and we shared room , so you can imagine what I had to go through , and he is the older bro so not much I could do about it :/
bullet for my valentine
avenged sevenfold
five finger death punch
nickelback
disturbed
any and all emo/screamo bands
hell yeah
I could've sworn this has already been a topic. As for me, I haven't developed a hatred for any because I find I can generally avoid things I don't like.
Disturbed. I don't have anything against them but for some reason people always think that I am in to them. I am not.

Not a band, but Bruno Mars is the worst.
I think that, like Adele mentioned before, artists like Bruno Mars make decent, if overproduced, music, but the incessant radioplay ruins them much, much quicker than they would otherwise. I'm still okay with the Gotye song, but I can completely understand hostility towards it after hearing it 20 times a day.
I know people here may hate me for this one, but I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE...
My father listened to them so much when I was younger that I now know ever lyric, every song note... EVERY FUCKING THING ABOUT ALL OF THEIR SONGS I KNOW!!!!!
I hate it... at first I liked it, but after listening to something for a MILLION times you start going insane... very very insane from listening to the same thing OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!!!
@Jay444111: I can see this. I'm not the biggest AC/DC fan, but a lot of their songs can sound very similar. But really, as mentioned, any band can become terrible to you if you hear their music constantly.

Atttack Attack! There isn't a single thing about this song, this video, or the people in it that would stop we from pressing a button that would launch them directly into the sun. Retarded, hardcore ninja dancing is terrible enough on it's own, but Choreographed hardcore dancing? autotune in "metal"? Stupid fucking hand haircuts? These people need to go.
Haw! Attack Attack! I'd almost forgotten about them. Shawn Elliott had a great description of it.

Anal Cunt
I saw Anal Cunt live once a few years ago. It was awesomely awful.
Not a band but fucking Gotye and Lana Del Ray are the most annoying shit right now. I started out liking both of them but the constant radio playing just makes me instantly turn off the radio when they come on.
Also, I like Foo Fighters but this song is played literally every time on the radio and I hate it with all my being.
It's not even a very good song from their new album. I can't even listen to the intro.
Edit: Also, Bruno Mars - I forgot to mention him because he is shit tier.

Oasis
Coldplay
Muse
David Guetta
Lady Gaga
I get everything but Muse. They have one of the most unique sounds out there, for what is a combination of regular instruments. And the lead singer has a good voice. Then again, I don't know their whole catalog - maybe I just know their hits.
How can you hate something when you have the absolute choice of not listening to them? Seems childish.
Cold play and the black eyed peas.
Beyond that i might not like it but i can respect it.
Ow and new Linkin park probably

Oh it has. This thread has been made about 250 times now. And it always contains the same answers with a mix of new popular artists.

I don't think it's fair to group all house music to being crap, try listening to Matthew Dear. Squarepusher and Africa Hitech and see if your opinions change.

Yeah well, I just recommended a few artists, but you're so dead set on thinking all of it is crap, so good on you.

Yeah well, I checked them all out and my opinion is still the same if not stronger.
