The Joker is a far more interesting villain than the Scarecrow and I like Maggie Gyllenhaal because she looks like a sad turtle.

The original Batman movie if I was forced to pick. But out of those two options then I would pick Batman Begins since the end of The Dark Knight was bull shit.

Batman Begins is a better film out of the two. The dark knight is just as fun, but the story isnt told as well, as its overly complicated in its themes and doesnt set them up very well.

Batman Begins is a "Batman Movie". It feels like a Batman movie. The art direction, the sets and locations they chose for Gotham, the villain(s), everything feels like it came out of a comic book.

The Dark Knight is a crime drama that just happens to have characters from the Batman universe in it. Hell, Batman's only in about a third of the movie. I like both, but they are completely different kinds of films and it's not fair to compare them.

Batman Begins is more intriguing because of the origin story. It's finally been done right.

However, Harvey Dent/Joker were much more interesting than the Scarecrow.

I honestly have to give it a tie, but I suppose I'd give the edge to Dark Knight simply because of the performances. Fantastic, shit.

Also, Jeff Gerstmann is a damn idiot for dismissing these films.

Prefer "The Dark Knight" by faaaaar. Batman Begins was better than the live action Batman movies before it, but it was still a disappointment for me.

I love them both dearly but my pick would be The Dark Knight. Let's hope The Dark Knight Rises retains the level of brilliance that the previous two films had so that Nolan will leave his Batman legacy on a high note.

What's funny about knowing about film? Come back to Chris Nolan once you've seen more than whatever shit is in your local multiplex this weekend and maybe you'll stop wowing over the generic.

You're so cute when you're all anti-conformist <3 Also, no offence intended but... why are you still here? Seriously, it seems you only linger around until some movie talk is brought up, and you're already well seated in screened at this point; I'd always figure you'd simply start hang where there's bound to be much more like-minded folkingtons, instead of a forum dedicated to a hobby you appear to be long past. Unless you just enjoy pissing on everyone's bonfire around here... which, hey, is certainly understandable, I guess.

I'm not anti-conformist, I just don't get the big deal around Chris Nolan. Insomnia, Memento and The Prestige are all great, but he's a really poor action director so when I see people all hot and bothered over The Dark Knight, or worse, Inception, I feel the need to bonfire piss in an increasingly vain attempt to see what's good about them and I have yet to get any answers that tell me more than that person has only ever gone to see movies advertised on IGN.

Screened was good, but then guys like Le_Samourai and Yuri I'm-not-even-going-to-try-and-spell-the-surname kind of stopped posting and now it just seems to be talk of shitty horror films and what is everyone's favourite Quentin Tarantino movie. It's a shame because while Alex tries way too hard, Rorie and his commitment to the community is full of potential.

The Dark Knight I prefer film wise, but as others have said, Batman Begins is perhaps the better Batman film as it focuses much more on Batman compared to the Dark Kinght (which looks a lot at the Joker and the organised criminal aspect of Gotham City).

However I enjoyed both films.

No one could seriously think that their statement is valid when they're making baseless assertions about what others do. Worse, what others do in the privacy of their homes. Even worse, when they're making assertions about people they don't know and have no contact with outside of an online forum. Or making a statement, which they pass off as definitive, that is only backed up with their own personal conjecture after stating that they have some knowledge in regard to "knowing about film".

Even better, when they state that movies (all movies) in the cinema are definitively "shit" without having seen them (Even the movies like Melancholia that are well received (not only by critics)) are not separated from the alleged "shit".

Where does your knowledge about films come from?

I didn't care all that much for Liam Neeson (and the end was a bit dumb) so I am going to say The Dark Night. Besides, Joker is always a plus.

I love both but I really enjoyed Nolan's take on Batman's origin story. I choose Batman Begins!
