DLC is a seperate thing and always should remain so. Don't talk about it in the same sentence, paragraph, or even article as DRM as publishers will get nasty ideas. (Some are already talking about selling a games final level as DLC in order to combat the second hand market)

Besides, DRM is the way forward, it just has to become consumer friendly first. Goo for example looks highly promising and there are other methods of DRM which geniunely protect the company without harming the legitimate consumer such as the new anti-piracy software for the DS which has some kind of random encryption that corrupts the rom if it's being played through an R4 cart (or similar).

But DRM in the vein of spore, bioshock, etc is something that definately needs to go. In fact it shouldn't have been allowed to exist in the first place,
