I didn't listen to much rock of the 90's. But I do listen to a lot of Rage Against the Machine, so I'll go with them.

And it's good to see you over here FilmGuy. You probably don't remember me, but I was shaza91 back at OT.

Best bands is a hard one, best albums would be more up my ally.  Really the only bands I  like who had more than one great album in the 90s would be:

Radiohead
Neutral Milk Hotel
R.E.M. (and the 1980s)
Olivia Tremor Control
The Flaming Lips
A Tribe Called Quest

For me i'd have to say the Red Hot Chili Peppers; having released 3 very strong albums in the 90's they're a shoe in for me. Radiohead is also amazing so is Audioslave if they're in the 90's i'm not rly sure lol

Although Guns n Roses appetite for destruction was released late eighties, i'll still name them because they were pretty big early nineties too. Also Stone Temple Pilots core album kicked major ass.

And of course AIC, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam.... I'm from Washington and can't help it :-P

The 90's had some great rock music.  I put it in the same league as the 60's.  It's hard to pick a list of tops on the fly, but I can say that two came to mind immediately:

2. Radiohead

3. Weezer

4. Wu-Tang Clan

5. Jeff Buckley
(or, if he's not counted towards being a band, Deftones)

I could list so many '90s bands or just even just '90s music in general that I enjoyed. In my opinion, the early to mid '90s has some of the best music out there.

From the top of my head, here are some bands that I liked:
Alice In Chains, Bush, NIN, The Pixies, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Weezer.

. . .  and that list can go on.

Well Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers are my two favourite bands and i guess they were releasing music in the 90's, so i'll go with them. Guns N' Roses bringing up third place.

You should probably hear more of there stuff instead of making silly comments like that. Blur were a great band and were much more diverse musically than Oasis.

I'm not gonna write out a top five list because I'm too lazy but Third Eye Blind's first album and Counting Crow's first album are two of my favorite cd's of that era and of all time.

This thread is filled with good bands from the 90's isn't it?

Half the Band mentioned in this thread started/formed in the 80s but didn't get big till the 90s, so just let it be :)
