Best Media Player for Windows?

VLC or Media Player Classic? Or maybe potplayer?

I just snapped in a blu ray burner I got from microcenter so I was wondering which one most people go for.

For video, VLC BY FAR. For music, Zune.

Zune for music because of the skin for the albums and stuff right? I remember when I had one years ago.

Also this Lite On blu ray burner won't play my blu ray even with VLC. Am I missing something?

@Doctorchimp: You can still use the Zune software without having a Zune. The presentation on the whole is just superior to anything I've ever found.

As for VLC... it's supposed to be the "swiss army knife" of video players. I can't really understand why it wouldn't play your blu ray - is it updated to the current version? I have never ever in my years of using VLC ran into a file that it couldn't play. What file format are the files? I would assume that blu ray files are in the .mkv format, and VLC excels at that... I really don't know what's going on :S

VLC. It's all you'll ever need.

Spotify for music. I usually use VLC for movies but Media Player Classic seems to be more lenient with what it plays.

Absolutely no clue..

I went to website I didn't see shit for drivers or anything. I'm about to try another blu ray, but it's not playing Drive.

Is what I get.

MEDIA PLAYER CLASSIC. Used to be VLC, but it can't handle high bitrate .MKV so fuck that noise. MPC does everything all the time.

VLC for anything video, Winamp for anything audio

Haven't found any program that would work for every video. So I tend to use MPC half the time and then KMPlayer for other half. I also have VLC, though it doesn't get much use.

MPC seems to struggle with 1080p encoded videos, while KMPlayer works fine with those. But MPC works better with all sorts of subtitles, while KMPlayer has trouble with anything fancy. And I just had a ton of issues with VLC (and BSplayer) when I was using it, so I keep it around only as a backup.

@Doctorchimp: Sounds like you need a bluray codec

Yup totally what happened.

I didn't know an OEM blu ray player needed a codec. Jesus I felt like I wasted money.

If you have a movie library as well, XBMC is your best friend. If not, then VLC.
