Cable. Comcast is the much better service in my area.
Cable or Satellite TV?
I'd pick cable, just because I don't watch enough T.V. to make the (generally) higher price of satellite worth the money.
Cable for me! Why?:
Internet and telephone services can come down cable too.
On demand services can be more varied, due to superior badwidth and throughput of cable over satellite.
2 way communication with cable.
No dish required and no atmospheric disturbances to the signal.
... But it does depend on the services offered where you live...
P.S. I like your King Crimson avatar - What an album cover!
Cable: Here's why, if your provider isn't quick enough to put a filter on your internet connection coming through the cable, you just got free cable. Which means you're actually paying a reasonable price for internet and cable. Don't get me wrong, you're not going to have all the cool channels that everyone else does, but you'll have your basic channels which for me is 78 channels.
Satellite because there is no cable on my street. Three blocks away there is but not here and after a dozen calls to Comcast and them refusing to do anything about it for years now, I don't see cable as an option anytime soon. I'd like cable internet service but if they won't even extend their service 3 blocks to include all the families in my area, then I've got to find other options until they do. The way the cable companies regionalize and therefore cut out competition in communities makes me sick, but that's how things work in the US right now.
