A WIND turbine at a Conisholme farm has been hit by an unidentified flying object.

Owner Ecotricity is currently investigating how the turbine – which has a 48-metre rotation – has one blade missing and one bent.

The turbine has suffered damage to its structure, with one blade missing and one badly crumpled.

The turbine – which is one of 20 at the Fen Farm site, near Louth – is believed to have been damaged yesterday.

EDIT: Just found an article on a news site about this and only then realized the size of this thing (its late here). I take back my birdie comment. Thats pretty extensive damage and its strange hows there's no debris. I've got no explanation that wouldn't sound crazy. Enjoy the mystery. =]

Hmm... to extensive for a bird, and I don't believe in UFOs.  Someone with an agenda against the green movement, maybe? LOL.

It's not that I don't want to Serbsta (we've all heard of the Drake equation), but I'm a seeing is believing sort of guy. I'm open to the idea, but I need something a little more concrete than what's been given to us thus far.

Could lightning do this type of damage? looks melted on one of the blades, and how the hell is one of the blades missing, there frigging huge.
