I'm starting to tinker with my Christmas music playlist and thinking about what new tracks I could add this year. Traditional, novelty, funny, instrumental, timeless classics, or obscure underground gems. Music of this season knows no bounds when it comes to genre. What are some of you duders' favorite seasonal songs, albums, or movie soundtracks?

Some of my favorite sources to cull from include the Home Alone movies (for John William's score and the licensed songs), A Christmas Gift to You from Phil Spector, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Here's some more of my favorites:

The Alice Project - Regifting for the Holidays

The Kinks - Father Christmas

The Ramones - Merry Christmas (I don't want to fight tonight)

Chuck Berry - Run Run Rudolph

I remember a lot of people having trouble with excessive imbedded videos in other music topics. Let's try to minimize them by posting links.

I usually can't stand Christmas songs, but I've got a certain fondness for this one, even if it's only loosely connected to Christmas.

This is christmas joy.

The Die Hard soundtrack is the only correct answer here.

The best Christmas song sung by the greatest vocalist of our generation.

Well, for some weird reason I ended up listening to a lot of Nick Cave during Christmas several years ago.
So the song that says "it's Christmas!" the most to me is this:

So yeah... don't got any actual Christmas songs I listen to.

I'd like to make a point that mariah carey + the roots + Jimmy Fallon was an awesome version of "All I want for Christmas."

Aside from going all-out on the old time classics like Bing Cosby, Die Hard made me really appreciate this one;

I listen to Trans-Siberian Orchestra, supplemented by Christmas albums from Relient K and Yo-Yo Ma.

The Chronic by Dr. Dre

What? It's a classic. I usually pair this with my annual 1 hour of Counter-Strike 1.6 online play.
And then I go downstairs and have some cognac and discuss important topics with my family.

Fuck Christmas music

Wham's Last Christmas is actually the only Christmas song ever made. Also lol @ anyone who doesn't think George Michael is the greatest artist of all time.

I just heard this recently on my local 90's deep cuts rap station. I was shocked I had never heard of this.

@thomasnash: That's great! I stumbled upon this while searching for more from that album.

Jimmy Fallon doing Bob Dylan - Jingle Bells, Batman Smells

And how could I forget this classic? Probably my first comedic and subversive Christmas song:

Weird Al - The Night Santa Went Crazy

Also, a sentimental favorite of mine, not a group I would listen to otherwise, but my Mom had this on CD when I was a kid:

Alabama - Thistlehair the Christmas Bear

@druminator Just doing my Duty. The Kinks deserve first consideration wherever music is being discussed.
