All I need is one good song to love a band, so they get lucky.

I still love me some Daft Punk but I HATE it when music critics approach all other electronic music with "It's not as good as Daft Punk!"Daft Punk is great, but Daft Punk is LAZY, they have slowed down a lot in terms of releases, don't do a lot of live shows and their last album was their worst album. Therefore, I will happily turn to a MSTRKRFT or a Justice and I don't feel bad about it. Those dudes keep cool stuff coming and even if it is derivative, its a whole lot more than Daft Punk has been giving us lately.

I love them. Best part of DJ Hero

#16 Posted by ahriman22 (2812 posts) -

I love them, saw them when they played in my city. Awesome concert. Not better than the Dir En Grey one I saw, but it was so awesome.

Daft Punk are amazing, cannot wait for them to go on a live tour again. My favourite track from the Alive album.

#20 Posted by Mushir (2631 posts) -

I'm not into that kind of music so I don't like em and neither to I hate em,

Amazing duo ,really pioneered electronic/dance music with homework, and pushed sampling to the next level with discovery.

Stories of the Secret Star System.
Me knowing this is your answer.

#25 Posted by Gargantuan (1896 posts) -

Dunno, have never heard any of their songs.
Don't like the genre.

#26 Posted by Solarus (289 posts) -

Daft Punk is pretty good. I'm a huge fan of Ferry Corsten and Armin Van Buuren though.
                                                                                                                                           (One of Ferry's aliases)

#27 Posted by RetroIce4 (4433 posts) -

No choice of "I like them" I don't love them, but they are good,

#28 Posted by Castro (942 posts) -

I agree with RetroIce4. I remember thinking that the "Around the World" song was pretty fun when I first heard it. Once I finally heard the full album, I found that it all sounded the exact same. The exact same. Everything I've heard since then has been stellar. I should try listening to a full album's worth at some point as I have not done so yet.
So yeah, I like them but I wouldn't say I love them. They have cool helmets.

Absolutely love them, some songs I am not a huge fan of (same goes with any group through) but the majority of songs I absolutely love listening too. I remember the first time I watched part of Interstella 5555 on Toonami as a kid, my mind was blown.

#30 Posted by CornontheCobbe (2693 posts) -

I can see how others like them but they aren't for me..... in other words i fucking hate them.

#31 Posted by DukesT3 (2029 posts) -

One of the only reasons why I bought DJ Hero. So yea, I say I like them a lot.

#32 Posted by NinjaHunter (997 posts) -

I think they're alright. I can only listen to a couple of their songs without skipping halfway through, though.

#33 Posted by Bombs_Away (1049 posts) -

I LOVE THEM!!! ahem...yeah they're alright...

#34 Posted by ArchScabby (5877 posts) -

So if I wanted to start listening to Daft Punk where should I start?

I started at the Discovery album, but I'm sure there's better people to ask about music stuff than I.
I like em a lot.
#36 Posted by Jinto (189 posts) -

I love Daft Punk and cannot wait to hear what they bring for Tron Legacy. However, in America most dumbass youth are into shitty R&B and hip-hop still. *ugh* When is that shit ever gonna die?

#37 Posted by FlipperDesert (2142 posts) -

So here's my problem with Daft Punk that made me stop liking them so much after obsessively listening to them; the initial hooks for half of their songs are amazing, I could listen to the first bit of Robot Rock over and over again. Unfortunately that's exactly what Robot Rock is, and most of their songs at that. The same could be said about a lot of electronic music but it gets especially grating when the songs last at least 5 minutes.
Otherwise yeah, they're okay.

#38 Posted by Gunner612 (4390 posts) -

i absolutely hate the genre, So i voted D.
Though i don't know why people like electronic/techno music to begin with.

#39 Posted by Diamond (8678 posts) -

Too many polls with black or white answers.  I like them a lot, but not love, but I voted love anyways.

I like Aerodynamic (actually most of Discovery) more than their live thing, but they're definitely better live than, say, Justice.
... I don't know where I was going with this. The point is that both are good but I disagree with your ordering.
#41 Posted by Bruce (6238 posts) -

I made this poll already.

#42 Posted by Ransom (114 posts) -

i salute thee, daft punk

Fuck it fuck it fuck it fuck it fuck it fuck it.
Goood I love that album.
#44 Posted by Symphony (1934 posts) -

I enjoy many of their songs, but there are also many that I find to be annoyingly repetitive like "Around the World". I suppose ALL of their music is pretty damn repetitive, but some of the beats and tunes can stand being looped over and over, while others just get jarring after awhile.
I really enjoyed Interstella 5555 -- the anime they did with Leiji Matsumoto. That was a great video.

#47 Posted by Pantalooney (317 posts) -

I recently discovered them, their music is awesome, i cant wait for a new tour.

#48 Posted by Hamst3r (4909 posts) -

Their style is decent, but I don't like their method. I'd rather listen to the originals that they sample than their mixes. Release The Beast is infinitely better than Robot Rock.

#49 Posted by Willin (1356 posts) -

Best of there genre.

#50 Posted by captain_clayman (3349 posts) -

they're hella cool
