Poll Dark Showers? (424 votes)
It's not everyday, but I do love me the odd dark shower.
How about you?

Dark shower - where no one can see you crying (I already sent application for registered trademark).
That said, I take steaming hot hour long showers in the first place and love the HELL out of them. Totally agree with Jeff's comment on a bombcast or two back when he said the water has to be just hot enough to where it's slightly uncomfortable so the cleansing fire will clean your soul, or something to that effect.
Most of you are too young, but when Jeff talked about too hot, slightly uncomfortable showers...I thought of Silkwood. Those big scrub brushes still give me nightmares!
I exclusively take dark showers. But I also like doing pretty much everything else in the dark. The first time I turn on any lights is when I go to tie my tie to leave in the morning.
I used to take dark showers when I woke up in the morning and it was still dark outside. My eyes had trouble adjusting to light quickly. I don't do it anymore because my new apartment's bathroom has a light dimmer.
Dem derr midwest storms forced me to take dark showers a few times - that's before I watched Mythbusters and learned that I could've died.
@spoonman671: I wish you weren't lying! OR, pics or it doesn't exist!
I feel like I don't really use my eyes when I'm taking a shower, so the lights being on or off is irrelevant.
I'd like to report back. I took a dark shower--not completely dark, but only with a single small candle light. My eyes quickly adjusted to the almost non-existent light. It was just enough light to function safely. Played some music from my phone sitting on the shelf right outside the shower. It was a very serene experience. 10/10, would recommend.
The Giant Bomb staff know video games, but I wouldn't necessarily take life advice from them. Maybe Drew or Vinny...but not this dark shower weirdness.
Also, like they said on the Bombcast, it's a lot more dangerous than it sounds. Imagine getting soap or shampoo in your eyes and then stumbling out of the shower to turn on the light or slipping on soapy water in the process. Just because something sounds fun doesn't mean you should try it. Does skydiving sound fun? Sure, but I know people who are in wheelchairs now because they tried it. So I probably never will, because the brief thrill involved in it is not worth the risk.

Or just rinse your eyes out since you're in the shower and everything.
As a proponent of dark showers I highly recommend them.
It's cheating but if if you have an opaque/semi translucent shower curtain light a candle and put on some Explosions in the Sky and you're on a one way ticket to Relaxation Town.
Also, everyone that is complaining that it's too dangerous. For shame! Either get more confidence in yourselves or die trying. You have not lived. Nor will you ever.
Tried it once or twice, mostly due to accidents like power going out or the like, not a fan.
What I am a fan of tho is reading in the bath, drinking in the bath, and even watching videos or playing games in the bath on my laptops.
I have a weird thing of not liking to take a shower until everyone in the house is gone.
So I'm all alone when I'm shower. And I get really afraid of ghosts when I'm showering alone, a dark shower would horrify me.
I don't even believe in ghosts, but I close my eyes and then I start to get all like "yeah, but what if what god damn if" and I get all scarred.
So, let there be liiiiiiiiight.
Hahaha that's amazing. I get the "what if" part
Used to do it during winter time in high school when the sun wasn't out at 5:45 in the morning. I have slightly above average night vision, I get it within a couple minutes and I can see mostly everything, it's just small details I can't see or small stuff on the ground. The only reason why I stopped showering in the dark is because I actually freaked out thinking if there was a spider or scorpion I didn't see on the ground and stepping on it would cause it to bite/sting me.
@hatking: how many ghosts tho
And now i cant stop thinking of the ref from wwe aka tupac shakur standing outside your shower door...
