Did you ever feel there is something wrong with you if...

...someone doesn't like a game you like.

I am not talking about really bad games per se, but even well regarded games that some notable people don't like.

Some of the most recent ones being Resident Evil Revelations, that while it got a good metacritic score, Brad and the rest of the crew here don't like it, so I am always wondering, why is that? Do I have bad tastes for liking it, or what? Or the fact that I like New Super Mario Bros 2 while others dont (although I never played the first ones before).

I also feel that I like more things than most people. Like with The Walking Dead (the movie) and Game of Thrones. I heard people liking one or another, but not that many both. I love both tho, and I can't help to feel that there is something wrong with me because of this.

I'm the opposite; I assume that there's something wrong with other people.

Or you have different tastes? Better explanation than thinking something is wrong with you.

@Alexandru: Frankly, every game I have ever liked has their detractors. It's how opinions are. It can vary as widely as something cultural, maybe even regional, but there can be pronounced differences just person to person. There's nothing wrong with having different opinions. After a while, you just have to come to terms with difference in those around you, and perhaps you can learn how to have a fuller appreciation of the games you enjoy or dislike through an exchange of ideas with those whom differ from you.

This has nothing to do with being right or wrong. People have different tastes, that's all.

I'm like this too, but even more opposite: I usually feel like something's wrong with other people for liking something I don't. I feel like I'm a dick for thinking that but it bothers me anyway.

Videogames, like almost any form of entertainment out there, is subjective to taste and preference. So no, I don't ever think that. I just wish everyone was as open as I am to it.

Frankly there are some things that are liked which for me conclusively prove that something is terribly wrong with other people's opinions at least some of the time.

im the same with chicken. i hate it and i spend many sleepless night worrying what other people think of me for not liking chicken.

You make titles like that? Yes. Yes, I feel like there's something wrong.

If you can find enjoyment in something others don't then I think that's something to be happy about.

Eh, no. I just hate when someone treats something as a matter of fact, when I don't think it is; like RE6. While I can see problems in it, I thinks it's merely a really great game; no less, no more, while I think there are some, or maybe a lot that think the game is factually bad. And I dislike the shooting in Uncharted 2, while many think that that's the best of the Uncharted games. Awkwardly.

I try my hardest not to let other people's horrible taste in music/video games/Tv shows/movies bother me so much. They are the assholes friend. Look at it from this perspective and keep your insults and bloody murderous thoughts of them to yourself unless you absolutely can't.

Despite what the internet will try and tell you your taste in video games say absolutely nothing about your intelligence, amicability or the type of person you are.

I don't give a fuck what people like and don't like. It doesn't effect my enjoyment at all so why would I bother being, well, bothered?

Just like what you like, who cares? Different people are going to like different things. You are overthinking it.

No, there's only something wrong with the people that get worked up over other people's tastes.

Especially when it comes to music. Holy shit, do people need to get a hold of themselves when it comes to music. I'll take three game fanboys over one music fanboy any day.

This. Some people just have bad taste. Obviously those people include anyone who doesn't agree with me.

On a serious note, opinions are just that, opinions. Entertainment is subjective by nature. Some people enjoy what others don't. Even if the rest of the world thinks a game is bad, if you enjoy it then good for you. We may all think you have bad taste (I once talked to a guy who swore Shadow The Hedgehog was one of the best games ever) but if you enjoy it then you enjoy it. No need to feel bad about it.

I honestly don't care what other people like and don't like.

People have different tastes. Some people talk about taste like it's an opinion, other's like it's a flavour. If you're the latter type, the former might make you feel uneasy. But be cool. It's all good.

Not really, I just assume those people are fuck ups and I apply this towards people who dont agree with me in general.
