Do you believe in God? Why or why not?

No, I'm not a troll, I'm just curious as to see what other people think about this topic.
 
Personally, I believe in God because of what the Bible says, because of the witness of Creation, and because of personal experience with seeing God working in my life to mold me and shape me into the person He intended me to be. And I'm still a work in progress. We all are.

Yes, I do believe in God. Unfortunately, religion based threads aren't really too good an idea on here, owing to the fact that they will cause flaming from people who oppose religion and so on. I believe in God, but I do not force that view on anyone else. If someone is Atheist or Agnostic, that is their choice and their choice alone. I can't change that, and neither can you. If you want to discuss religion without being flamed, etc. I recommend you use Google and see if you can find a Christian message board.

And if I am wrong and there is a God with the whole heaven/hell, I really doubt that a God would let a good person get sent to hell for eternity for not blindly following something that there is no proof of. 
 
Religion stemed from people not understanding the way the world worked and saying that things were controlled by higher beings. It was then turned into a way of oppresing the public.

I don't, but I don't disrespect others for believing in one. I just don't believe in a magic man in the sky that somehow created all life in the universe. I don't know how life came to be either, but that still seems a little far-fetched to me. 

Sure. Scientific breakthroughs aren't based on only believing in what's already been proven, so I'll let people who require absolute proof for everything continue to not contribute to the world in a meaningful way.
