@sterling: Back during the Shenmue 3/Last Gaurdian/FF7 E3 insanity GB kept a level head and that's amplified a lot of the the disdain that's built in some corners of the internet community against Jeff Gerstman over time. To the point that some people forget that Jeff plays up things like his Yoshi hate. I'm glad that wasn't what this thread was about. Seeing a fellow duder trying to defend Gb's honor has always been super cringy.

It's mostly this and the fact that the community rules weren't in place when this thread was created and became part of site lore. There are some long running threads that would not be allowed if they were started today, but are allowed to stay because of legacy. Almost all of the comments that would be moderated using today's rules were made years ago and we don't tend to go back that far with moderations. So as long as the new comments in a thread like this are (mostly) okay by current standards, we're okay with preserving the thread in internet-amber.
