I have tried to a few times, but most of the time the music is too annoying and it just doesnt seem like my kinda thing. I cant drink either, so all my friends are getting drunk and I am pretty much waiting to go home.

Some of my lady friends get me to go with them every so often, its pretty fun as long as you can dance a little, but the drinks are so insanely expensive, and you have to pay cover to get in usually, plus clubs always seem to be insanely far away from everything, so getting home is always a pain.

But yeah, I go sometimes, its alright. Lots of sluts.

Every now and then me and the guys from work will head to a club. We are pretty fond of this place called  "The Cock Kingdom". Everyone is always super friendly there.

You sound like that type of dude who puts a downer on things by the look on your face alone. If you do feel that way, you shouldn't tag along I think.

Drinking should have little to do with it, I've got a few friends that don't drink also, and they always have a great time out clubbing. Here in London / UK, we've got many different types of clubs offering different experiences as far as music and entertainment, surely it's the same where you live also?.

If not, maybe you should give clubbing a rest, if you deem it dull and none cater to your needs.

I don't call it "clubbing." Don't really call it anything. I just say like, "Wanna go to "Whoever's bar?" The only way I dance is if I'm incredibly fucked up. I hate dancing, and I don't see the point unless you're some gangster that pulls ghetto chicks off the dancefloor. Only time I've really met girls from downtown is at bars, where you can talk to them. Way too many stupid girls downtown to go by looks alone.

Well there are clubs, as opposed to bars with small dance floors.

Thee modern mating ritual is fun - dance first, talk later, wake up fucked.

No. I really don't care for it.

#18 Posted by Sanj (2374 posts) -

Yeah i used to be the clubbing type, don't do it so much anymore.
#19 Posted by Shadow (4979 posts) -

Sweet, I can go pay way too much for drinks in an overcrowded place coated in an unidentified sticky substance and with blaring loud crappy music.  That's totally how I spend my free nights.

#20 Posted by Dirty_Harry (717 posts) -

Well i dont have the age to go in to clubs but sometimes i get in, i just drink a whole lot before i go.

Been a few times but clubbing isn't really my thing although to be fair I did have a good enough time the couple of times I went, just not enough to warrant keep going.

Quite often, but yeah, most of the time the music is bad, since my tastes aren't really mainstream.  But, then again, that's what hard liquor is for.

#26 Posted by MattyFTM (14370 posts) -

I've been many times, and if a group of my mates are going I'll go along, and I'll have fun. But it isn't really my thing. The music is too loud, and the mentality of most of the people there is to "get as drunk as you can as quick as you can", which is a horrible mentality to have, it takes half an hour to get served at the bar because it's so busy, there are too many people making it hard to move around, the prices are a rip off, and inevitably one of your idiot mates says "let's go to the casino" and you're to drunk to think "that's a terrible idea" so you go to the casino and lose a tone of money.

I much prefer to have a quiet drink in a pub with my mates. That way we can actually hear each other talk, have a good laugh & joke, listen to some music on the jukebox and just generally have a nice time with your mates.

I prefer to sit in my leather office chair, light up a Cuban, have a nice 30 year old bottle of Glenfiddich beside me, put on Edith Piaf full blast and just get absolutely stocious!

@Meowayne: What is he doing with that club?
#31 Edited by PenguinDust (12499 posts) -

 Gotta club'em all
Gimme an axe-handle and let me work!  Lately though, those little buggers have been fightin' back.  Check out THIS to see what I mean.  ;-)

Seriously though, no.  When I was in college I went out to the bar a lot and those bars sometimes had live music, but that's not really what I call "clubbing" when I think of the word.  Most of the time, I picture a very dark room with flashing lights, blaring music that seems to be all beat, excessively made-up girls, and the smell of over-priced booze and cigarettes.  Like a scene from 1988's Bright Lights, Big City.  I tried a few times when I was younger because it seemed like the thing to do.  I had this image in my head that young guys go to clubs, meet girls and have meaningless sex.  But, the truth was actually I spent too much money and woke up with hangovers and headaches alone 99% of the time.  There was only one time that the blocks lined up perfectly and that was an experience I'd much rather forget.  It's very disorienting to wake up in someone else's bed when their teenage daughter has entered the room.  But, overtime I learned that the most meaningful relationships were initiated outside of those "meat markets".  If you're going just to dance, then they're probably okay, but for any other reason there are much better places to hang out with friends or to meet the opposite sex.

This's how I view most clubbing venue's; It's the friend's you're with, not the location you're in, that makes thing's fun. :-)
Club's can be fun but when you go with only one friend it create's an awkard situation with the other person. Everytime you say something they either reply with "WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" or they just nod because haven't a clue of what you've just said. So I end up dancing with that one person and wanting to go outside and have a laugh with her/him instead. We usually end up going to a bar. Or maybe a strip joint(Which is rare. I prefer to not have a woman I just met rub her bits on me for money, thank's. I prefer a woman to be rubbing her bits on me if we've hung out for at least a week's worth and I have to like her before that stuff will be allowed to happen.) ;-)

I do like dancing though. (I took some street dance lessons when I was a kid.) And getting attention from the ladies because of it is always cool. My photo on my profile is also a good reason why I get attention.
But after age 19, clubs just got boring for me. (I'm 22 now)
I prefer to actually hear what the person I'm talking to is saying.
And besides dancing is fun but hanging out and hvaing a laugh is a lot better.

I'm a gamer of course I would think these thing's though lol...

I've tried it once or twice and I never have nor ever will, like it. I just prefer a pub or better yet stay at home!

#34 Posted by crystalskull2 (437 posts) -

Its not my thing.

#35 Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff (5416 posts) -

No, it's not my type of thing, though I go when friends go, because then we can at least play pool, and for some reason we always have some of our best conversations there.

#36 Posted by Cerza (1653 posts) -

No I don't. I tried it a few times when I was in college/uni, but I could never get into it. I hate dancing. I only know how to Disco like it's 1977, which makes me an eyesore in the modern scene, which to me looks like a bunch of people trying to have sex with their clothes on. The music is always too loud and never anything good. I want to be able to hear what the person six inches from me is saying as they try and scream it into my ear. Then we come to the drinks, which are WAY WAY WAY WAY too overpriced and expensive. I don't have a problem with having a few drinks, but I can't stand the mentality of going out and getting as wasted as possible as fast as possible in the name of having a good time. To me it's just stupid. Also, I realized the girls and friends you meet there are only friendly so long as your paying and there is no point in socializing with people when they are too wasted to remember you the following morning. At least this has been my experience in America. Maybe it's different in other parts of the world. I dunno.

#37 Posted by VilhelmNielsen (1734 posts) -

Nope, I go where the beer's cheap and the music just a soundtrack fo the conversations you're having with your friends (and also not so much in the clubbing genre).

#38 Posted by Gunner612 (4338 posts) -

Nah, i dont see the appeal. Too many people concentrated in one small spot and the alcohol is way too expensive.

#39 Posted by DanielJW (4915 posts) -

I haven't gone, but it doesn't really seem like my kind of thing. I'm rather shy, and I don't drink.

Who knows though.

I don't think I can give my suggestion due to site rules and stuff.  But clubbing is a ton of fun under certain circumstances...

#43 Posted by Binman88 (3686 posts) -

I tend to go to pubs first, then move on to a club to get even more drunk. I prefer bars though for chatting with friends, clubs are better for bigger groups of people I find.

#44 Posted by Whisperkill (2969 posts) -

No I dont 'go clubbing'

but I do party!

I'm more of a bar/lounge type of guy, it's actually easier to meet girls there than a straight up "club".

Yeah, no, I don't. Mainly because I can't.

Nah, i'm far too awkward to do well at clubs.  If anything i'll just do house parties and stick to the beer pong table so i have some common ground to talk to strangers about.

#50 Posted by Baillie (4081 posts) -

You all assume that clubs are for hooking up with girls? I go because the music is great, my friends and I have the best of times and meeting new people is great when you're clubbing.

For the people who say the music is bad... Go somewhere where the music is... GOOD?
