I'm one of those people who are in a better mood when the sky is overcast, or if its raining/snowing. Winter is my favourite season so I'm looking forward to it. Summer is crap partly because its hot and I sweat a lot, but mostly because I get comments from people (mostly older relatives) about it being a beautiful day, and that I should be out having fun in the sun. To which I reply, "go fuck yourself."

I'm S.A.D during the summer. It's so hot over here it makes me miserable. The winters at the coldest time of the year is like 40F. The hottest time of winter is around the 60F's so it's perfect.
While I certainly don't have any actual disorder, I'm with you on this one. I HATE summer, especially here in Indiana where it gets insanely hot and super humid, but I love the winter (where it gets quite cold and considerably snowy).
@Incryptic: hmm where do you live?
Winter is kinda harsh in Calgary but I feel like its actually cozier indoors during the winter. I sleep better when its cold outside.
Taking vitamin D helps in the winter you lack the sun which gives you a good amount of vitamin D alot they have special lights for SAD but I never tried them they seem to work well from what I read.I got clinical depression winters certainly make it more worst so there are things that can help exercise is great to even in the winter you just got to dress for it or if you got a treadmill that helps.
Not really. I love summer evenings even if it is hot and humid: the sun being up till 8:55pm is always a plus. Of course, a few miles down the road you cross into Central Time and that 8:55pm becomes 7:55pm, so if I were over there I probably wouldn't be so fond of it. That extra hour of sunlight has lit many a good times.
Spring and fall are my favorite seasons, however, as one is coming out of the doldrums of winter and the other has that awesome, crisp fall air that just reinvigorates the spirit.
Winter I could do without. Not much sun, cold as fuck, and my hands crack and bleed no matter how much moisturizer I use. Know what else sucks about winter? All the fucking holidays. I hate em.

And, I've picked up running everyday. I'll still do it in the winter, with the appropriate attire, of course.
@JEC03 said:Yes there supplements you can pretty much get them at any drug store if your more interested about it look it up you'll be surprised how many benefits they have.Taking vitamin D helps in the winter you lack the sun which gives you a good amount of vitamin D alot they have special lights for SAD but I never tried them they seem to work well from what I read.I got clinical depression winters certainly make it more worst so there are things that can help exercise is great to even in the winter you just got to dress for it or if you got a treadmill that helps.@JEC03: Vitamin D supplements? I don't know if I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, but nothing disheartens/pisses me off more than waking up to a blaring alarm clock and not wanting to leave my cocoon of blankets because it's a second god damn ice age outside. Plus, the shower always pumps out the coldest water it can before it finally starts to warm up. That's pretty irritating.

winter is comming
AND I AM FUCKING HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FU SUMMER , FU AND GOODBYE HIGH TEMPERATURES!!!
If so, how do you cope with it? Winter's coming up and I know I'm not going to enjoy it. Any tips on how to stay happy?I do. January and February are really the only months it kicks in here in august. Really for about 3-4 weeks. I usually just try to power through it now that I know what it is. I used to not realize it was a thing.
I just don't like it when it gets dark at like 3pm. Makes it seem like the day is already over.
I love winter. I'm currently working my ass off to spend most of it at MCRD San Diego though. God I hope they know what winter means.
This summer has been extremely hot here in NC. Nearly, or over, 100 degree weather every single day.
Winter? I love winter. No overbearing sun, no sticky sweat, no horrible outside working conditions, no sun up until 9:00, none of that crap. Too cold? Wear more clothes! Chapped lips and cracked hands? Chapstick and moisturizing lotion!
Also, all the holidays and fun stuff comes along in Winter. Thanksgiving and Christmas* FTW!!!!
*Or the other holidays, I forget all the names but all the major religions seem to have something around these times...
...OH! That seasonal depression thing... yeah... I actually get a bit depressed when allergy season comes along. I am allergic to pollen, and every year when pollen gets really, really strong, for about two or three weeks I get extreme allergies. Nearly debilitating, embarassingly bad allergies. It actually must look like I have an extreme form of the flu. I sneeze so much I bleed. So you could say that I have a bit of depression during the spring because I feel completely worthless, but it's far closer to "severely annoyed" than "depressed".
i live in Vancouver so its mild all throughout the year
I love winter it's summer that depresses me
...there's actually something called Seasonal Affective Disorder? wat?
seems like people are just trying to make "not liking a certain type of weather" sound a lot more serious than it actually is because having a disorder is "cool"
seriously, what the fuck
not liking hot/cold weather is a disorder my ass
@Fribain: Some people become deeply depressed (suicidal even) during seasonal change, that is who actually has S.A.D.
For me, I hate rain and mild weather (0 to 15 degree Celsius), either be col enough to snow or nice and sunny, no where in between. Hence why I hate winter in Vancouver.
My misery is pretty consistent all year round.
I live in Hawaii...so no. I LOVE our winter. Its nice and cool (low to high 70s), breezy, and just rainy enough to make everything green and alive.
We also get snow..you just have to go to a couple of specific mountains that are tall enough.
So my suggestion is to move to a location that gets the kind of weather you enjoy.
The 'sun lamp' alt. You don't mention your location, so it's hard to advise. I'm in Cleveland, so one learns to thrive despite depression.
Not really. There are seasons when I feel my best (winter) but there isn't any point in the year where I just feel awful because of it.
Not looking forward to it either. I hate winter here because the skies are always clear and it looks like it's hot and sunny outside, but the biting wind just cuts through you and chills to the bone. I wouldn't mind if it was cold and windy if it was overcast and rainy, but being bright and sunny feels like a big "fuck you" from nature.
Winter is my favorite. Fuck the sun. The roads are more fun to drive in during a blizzard anyways.
I have it, and I have found that you should enjoy summer while you can, so you won't regret not going out while you had the chance.
Yep winter gets me. I love sunny days and I love rainy days, but days that are just overcast bum me out. That happens a lot in winter around here.
Well, Seattle doesn't have seasons, so no. Just overcast, warm overcast, and cold overcast.
I miss Colorado, and the awesome winters though!
I didn't know such a disorder existed. Personally, Fall and Spring are my favourite seasons. Winter and Summer are just so mainstream.
You should watch this documentary ("Marketing of Madness") about how every single mental disorder has no scientific fact or proof behind it. They're all created to sell drugs.
I really don't because the best shit happens in the Winter, I love snow, I love Christmas, I love New Years.
COME ON BE HAPPY, TURN THAT MOTHER FUCKING FROWN UPSIDE DOWN.
