Poll Do you like spinach? (197 votes)

Yes 83%
No 13%
I don't like vegetables 4%

I just had lunch, and I realize I have an almost-fantastic poll. I discovered that spinach is my favorite vegetable ever a couple of years ago. I enjoy having it from a can (on a plate), or freshly-boiled. It goes great when made with pizza, lasagna, quiche, or simply with butter and Swiss or mozzarella cheese.

Anyway, what's your take?

It's alright. I like it mixed in with a salad. I'm not big on cooked spinach, although it can be alright in some things.

My take is I like it. Also this is a weird coincidence considering I made some raw spinach soup for dinner tonight.

Oh good, we have adults here! That's fantastic.

I'll like a spinach salad. Some of that that blue crumble cheese. Some peaches on the side. :)

Only ever had it once. After a day at the casino a friend and I went to his house and his mother had made some sort of spinach quiche-esque thing (I forget what she called it, but she didn't call it quiche) I found it to be an enjoyable meal.

@blu3v3nom07:

No the milk is used as a cooking medium to keep the green color fresh and have it lose a lot less nutrients (or so I heard) when boiling.

But I have no idea how it would taste like...

Yeah. I loved spinach as a kid, but one day after we'd had spinach for lunch in school I got stomach flu and puked it all up. Couldn't eat it for years after that, but nowadays it tastes great again.

Sure. I like spinach. I am a true omnivore though. Not picky about food whatsoever.

Fresh spinach with a creamy white sauce (refined with some white wine and fresh herbs maybe) - a flippin' delight! Even better, serve the stuff with lasagne and seafood.

As a child I sustained myself on spinach and brussel sprouts for a month. I was an odd one.

Sure, but I'd rather have a romaine salad than raw spinach or cooked collard greens or kale than stewed most of the time.

Also, arugula is similar but more interesting flavor-wise.

I don't like fresh spinach too much (salad or sandwich style), but cooked spinach is fine by me. More of a romaine lettuce guy for sandwiches and such.

I never understood spinach. Gritty tasting, yet slithery like pond scum and possessing a foul aftertaste.

I can do broccoli, cauliflower, cooked cabbage etc. But spinach does not enter my kitchen.

The cats don't like it either.

I didn't like it as a kid but almost never had it. After that I completely didn't have it for several years until tasting it some time ago and I guess I don't hate it, I'd never go out of my way to have some though.

I absolutely abhor cooked spinach though.

I remember tasting spinach soup back in kindergarden. Hated it! Haven't touched it since, but then again, I didn't like asparagus either, which is now my favorite vegetable.

I probably eat spinach every day (girlfriend is vegetarian). My only gripe with it is that, like many other leafy greens, its nutritional value is sapped if it is even slightly overcooked. Gotta keep an eye on that 'nach, folks. Get them vitamins. 'Nach is my word for spinach.

Didn't like it as a kid (big surprise) but since I went to college I developed a broader taste for food in general.

You learn to appreciate good cooking after eating microwaved crap in your dorm room.

Other than that, fuck spinach.
