Do you like videogame music as something to listen to on its own? (Question of the Day 1-21-11)
Of course, it's rare that I'll download a video game album to keep though.. only game albums I have at the moment are:
Sonic 2, Donkey Kong Country 2, X-men & X-men 2 (Genesis),
Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Mass Effect, Halo...
The Legend of Zelda, Xenogears, Shatter
Oh and if you don't know, Jak X Racing Soundtrack is done by A Perfect Circle's Billy Howerdel and drummer Josh Freese, Nine Inch Nail's Danny Lohner, one or two members of Queens of the Stone Age...it's pretty badass, especially for a videogame soundtrack
Absolutely. I've got the entirety of the Jazz Jackrabbit and Duke Nukem 2 soundtracks in my favorites on Youtube, for example. Good listenin'.
No, but sometimes I hear normal songs on them that I then check out later. That's how I discovered NIN.
" Definitely! Unlike normal songs, video game music can actually contain music. "Hahaha, good point. :P
Of course! Final Fantasy, Zelda, Elder Scrolls, Warcraft, Halo, etc. Not only do a lot games contain a lot of great music on its own, but it reminds me of specific moments in the games.
And to fans of Final Fantasy music, you owe it to yourself to check out Distant Worlds, in case you haven't already. Some awesome orchestrated versions of classic Final Fantasy music!
Definitely do. Examples such as Pacman CE DX or some Persona 4 songs. Oh, and Super Meat Boy too contains some great tracks I listen to from time to time.
Definitely. I like to listen to Nobuo Uematsu's Final Fantasy OSTs, especially the piano versions of the songs. That man is a genious.
C: Some of it. I got a couple of the songs from Deadly Premonition that I play from time to time, but generally no I don't.
Of course. I think Sonic Unleashed is one of the best soundtracks to come out for a very long time, despite the Video Game being quite bad.
