I'm just curious to see how many of you guys on giantbomb, actually make youtube videos. I use to make vids 3 years ago for fun. I made psp reviews and posted gameplay vids. I met alot of cool people and alot of haters. Everything was going good until my channel got flagged twice, and at the time I was going through life problems. So I made the decision to shut it down.

But anyway what types of vids you make, what made you want to make vids, and whats one thing you hate dealing with on youtube the most?

Not allowed to..court order.

I used to post Ray Mears videos because most of his shows aren't available in the US, but his company contacted me about month ago and asked me to take them all down.  They were very cordial about the whole process, so no hard feelings.

i used to make horrible videos back when i had editing software but since a hard drive format and complications with installing, i've mostly stuck to just silly short clips from my phone, which are equally as horrible and odd as the videos i used to make

The only video of yours that I remember watching is a short clip of Driv3r where you were driving a truck through an alleyway whilst shit flies all around you and thought "So this is how he kills time...yeah that looks about right."

I don't make videos because frankly I doubt anyone would care what I have to say. Also my PC is too terrible to handle anything.

I would if I could go ahead and get some of my music recorded, but in the mean time, no dice

One day I would like to have the time and skills to do so, but not currently.

It does seem cool/fun to be one of those "internet reveiwer" type people....but then we really need more of those don't we? plus the criticism would destroy my soul

#13 Posted by RandomInternetUser (6789 posts) -

I've made two, both for school assignments.

Sometimes put up some gameplay videos, they are not really aimed at other people though. They are more ment to be shared with my friends, and its a nice way of preserving gaming memories, to look back at later in life.

Very rarely I'll post short clips of funny things that happen in games. I used to do it a lot back in the day, but I got tired of it.

There always will be people to criticise you on making vids or life in general. It's something nobody can avoid it will happen sooner or later. But nobody should let what people have to say bring there spirits down.

I made that video of Nolan North talking to Nolan North in Mafia 2.

Fuck no.

#19 Posted by iam3green (14390 posts) -

no, i don't. i don't have anything to share on youtube. i think people aren't interested in what i have to say.

#20 Posted by OtakuGamer (1239 posts) -

I've made many, but there mainly clips and sounds mixed and edited together due to boredom. I don't show them to anyone else other than my friends because it mainly involves inside jokes. I can't honestly imagine myself being public or serious.

Nope, though I am in a couple of projects that could have some material that could be posted on Youtube.

#22 Posted by kogasu (148 posts) -

Yes, I like to make traditional heavy metal inspired covers of video game music and post them on Youtube but I haven't done that many yet.

Combo videos when I feel the urge to break down a fighting system and have some free time.

#24 Posted by Tim_the_Corsair (3065 posts) -

I made a CS frag video once as a part of joining a particular clan, that predates YouTube though.

Lol no.

#26 Posted by KiloKAHN (6 posts) -

I do not make videos. But my likeness is found within many of them.  View this introduction of Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad to witness my likeness in action, meat-things. So says KiloKAHN, Master of the digital world!

I just uploaded a video some time ago of my first character model and animation... that's all.

#28 Posted by Lunar_Aura (2779 posts) -

I make them every now and then, usually showcasing a fighting game on the day of release.

Aside from the upload time, I'm not particularly fond of the negative youtube comments from people who don't understand when or why I uploaded something. When I upload a Day 0 b&b combo, it's not gonna be all that relevant 6 months later, you damn idiots.

#29 Posted by JeanLuc (3585 posts) -

I've made a couple. Some are cool stupid and some are just regular stupid. I never done anything seriously, just for fun.

#30 Posted by officervanhalen (86 posts) -

Yeah, I run a teaching channel with regular guitar lessons. I also use it as a promotional vehicle to shove my shitty instrumental music down peoples throats.

I usually do videos based on games nobody cares about, particularly for that reason, so that anybody who does actually care about it may find some content for it. (if I had a Kinect, I'd totally do a Diabolical Pitch playthrough) Achievement guides, ripped music, obscure collectible guides...and a whole mess of Streets of Rage related videos.

I wish I could do boring and informative reviews, but I don't have a microphone and I don't know what a good one is.

#32 Posted by falserelic (5438 posts) -

The only vid I have on youtube is my Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Review. A few months ago a friend of mine uploaded it to he's channel. Back when I had it on my channel I had positive and negative feedback. Some people threw out racial slurs at me. But I didn't give a shit about them. Anyway when I made this review I got straight to the point of my thoughts.
