Do You Prefer Male or Female Singers?
I personally really, really like female singers. I'm a huge fan of Metric, Lily Allen, Kate Nash, and many others. I just found an amazing singer, Marina and the Diamonds. I urge everyone to check her out. He beautiful singing voice is matched only by her natural beauty.
Entirely depends on the genre. If its pop, then defintely Female. If its Rock, male. If its rap, male. If its Metal, male.
Male singer mostly, but sometimes female. Ever heard Skillet? It's pretty fucking good sounding with both a male and female. And female alone? Zooey Deschanel in She & Him. Nuff said.
I don't care about the actual vocals so much, but males are better song writers (in general) so male.
Male mostly, i don't really focus on any genre, as i just listen to anything that sounds good, but sadly most female singers i heard now are the sluts or wannabe sluts, not all, there are those hidden gems like in all music, but i don't know, maybe my ears are homosexual
just when through my music and almost every singer is male.
Male, I listen to 80s/90s rap and 70s/80s Rock N Roll, and I haven't many if any females in those categories that I like. The chick in Fleetwood Mac is pretty good though.
I don't care, if they have enough talent, i'll listen to it. By talent, it's in a really short supply these days.
I would have to say female. I listen to a lot of chilled out music these days and a female voice is easier on the ear. Romy Madley Croft (from the XX), Beth Gibbons (Portishead), Tracy Thorn (Everything but the girl/Massive Attack) and Sia (Zero 7) are probably the singers I most enjoy hearing.
Hard to say. Quite different aspects and singing styles.
Male singers can be great sometimes as they can really put emotion into songs and i'm not talking about some emo singers. Female singers are also absoultely brilliant.
It really does depend on the song, but look up Paz Lechtanin's solo stuff, (she was the bassist and violinist for Smashing Pumpkins AND A Perfect Circle). She has one of the most beautifully haunting voices I've ever heard.
Also Mazzy Star has songs that will seriously creep you out if you listen to what she's saying. I've got a soft spot in my heart for female vocalists because, as a dear friend of mine put it perfectly, "Every man likes it when a woman sings to them."
Sometimes I like the music, but not really the singer. The TIng TIngs are a really good example of that with Great DJ.
For me there's nothing quite like a beautifully-voiced and talented female singer. It's among the reasons I fell in love with Evanescence (though I admit some of their stuff kinda sucks). Amy Lee's voice is incredible, and it's too bad she left the band.
