I can't understand words unless they are spoken at regular speaking tempo/pitch. It's really irritating.  
 
So I find myself listening to instrumentals more than lyrical works, though funnily enough some of my favorite songs are lyrical.

I'm pretty bad at understanding lyrics. Unfortunately, I often prefer the lyrics that I think I hear over the ones that are actually said.

@Ahmad_Metallic: Heh, yeah. Sometimes it can be really bad when you find out that what the song says is pretty much the opposite of what you thought it said and it ends up changing the whole meaning of the song. I hate when that happens.
