I give it a quick up and down when I take it out of the fridge. But as you say, don't really know why. Force of habit perhaps.
Do You Shake The Milk?
Had cereal a bit ago, and found myself shaking the jug before pouring, despite there being no real reason too. If you don't remember, most milk sold (at least in the US) is homogenized: its all been mixed up for you already, For Science!
But the act of shaking seems to be kind of ingrained as a cultural thing, and those amuse me.
Also, I think Soy milk has to be shaken as its veggieBS.
The only reason to shake milk nowadays is if you like suds on the top.
Unlike before, where you had to shake to get the layers together, milk is homogenized.
I shake my milk. Cause either its chocolate milk and has started to separate the chocolate and milk, or cause its organic milk most organic milk in the US is only pasteurized and will separate once the original mixing of packaging and shipping wears off, and certain milk waters and solids will separate...so I shake the hell out of it...Organic milk=the best.
Shake... milk? W-why? I've never heard of anyone doing such a thing.
Oh wait. I get it. Innuendo. Funny.

*cries* sadly most Organic milk makers are now switching to transparent jugs or packaging. Instead of opaque and the milk no longer tastes good. I used to buy organic milk even at 6 dollars a gallon cause it was that good compared in health benefit and taste...but the taste is gone now.
I do a left to right with my half-and-half before adding it to my coffee.....reflecting upon this habit I have no idea why I do it or where it came from.
Wow this went to a dark place quicker than i thought.
No, as far as I now that is was not a euphemism for anything, until now. Just an observation of one of those weird anachronistic things that people do without really knowing why, or it being necessary.
Thoughts:
- Milk in bags is fucked up, way to easily associated with an Udder for me to ever be ok with
- If you buy Not From Concentrate Orange Juice, you shouldn't have to shake it either, and it is mucho better.
- Yes, do search out good organic hormone free milk, especially since apparently big boobs are going out of style
- Seriously what the fuck did you people thin that meant?
- I am making some chocolate milk now, stirred, not shaken.
