I'm talking about cigarettes, not mary-jane. I've been smoking for over a year now, and I'm thinking of quitting (I only smoke like 3-4 a week.)

Anyone other smokers out there?

#2 Posted by HazBazz (1901 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

No, I dont. You should quit. You can do it, man

#3 Posted by Tiefster (115 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

I used to smoke when I was like 14/15 and picked it up again last year but I quit again.  I've tried so many things cigs don't do it for me anymore.

#4 Posted by TimeWaffle (941 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

it's one of the stupidest things you can do

#5 Posted by Just_Insane (1080 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

#6 Posted by Karmum (11470 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

No, none at all. And I never plan on doing it, either.

#7 Posted by Clean (2355 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

I tried it in the past and I don't like cigs

#8 Posted by HazBazz (1901 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

I don't see the point in it. At least other drugs give you some sort of high, tabacco is just useless and addictive.

#9 Posted by serbsta (1867 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

No, i find it dirty.

Nope. There's no point.

#14 Posted by Hitman101 (81 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

Hellz no I don't smoke. I wanna keep all the gaming years I have in my life. Lung cancer will nix that in a second.

#15 Posted by Shawn (3825 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

I only smoke pot, on occasion, but I've stopped for awhile >.>

I usually give that designation to drinking alcohol.  Even though I like doing it, it's very obvious your body doesn't like it that much.

I smoked for 10 years but haven't since like 2004. You should quit, its such a waste of money and does nothing good for you.

Nope!

#19 Posted by killer_meatballs (428 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

No.   I did in the past though.   Still get the urge every now and then.  But don't.

#20 Posted by Fr0Br0 (3066 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

Ew, no. I hate when people who smoke are next to me. Smells nasty.

I'm killing myself with cholesterol. Like a real american
Killing yourself with smoking? That crap may fly in Europe, but here in Murica,no dice.
If you want to kill yourself in this country, you've got to do it our way: with booze and burgers.

Edit: Sarcastic light is now off!

#25 Posted by stAtic (1638 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

No, there's no good reason to start smoking.

The worst part is that my friends smoke, almost all of them, and every time I say no they give me a look, in fact, 2 of them may have started because of me, but I didn't peer pressure them or anyhting.

But whatever, fuck them. I'll still drink, smoke "other" stuff, but I'm done w/cigarettes.

I'm no health nut but I'm glad I never picked up smoking.  Unhealthy, and expensive.

Nope. I have, though.

#31 Posted by 1oneWON (87 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

No, but I do smoke weed sometimes. My girl does smoke cigs and it drives me crazy. I've been trying to get her to quit.

#32 Posted by filiwian (249 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

Nope, haven't done it and never will.

I am currently in the process of quitting smoking. I've been without a cigarette for the last 2 days, and am feeling quite edgy. Thanks for asking though, jerk. (kidding!)

Supposedly, if you can make it three whole days without having one, you're good.

Thats what I always say to people! The illegality of weed is just because the governement doesn't want you to feel good, they would rather kill you off with ciggarets.
#37 Posted by ChainGangSoldier (71 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

No I don't kill myself.

Actually, if you just start smoking, you get a pretty nice buzz (light headed-ness) from cigarettes. But I don't get those anymore.

That's actually correct. After three days the nicotine in your system is gone. Only the psychological addiction remains, which is the hardest part to deal with. That can last for years.

Yeah I was about to say that the 3-day theory would be a flawed one in my book. I guess if there is no biological yearning for it that would make sense, but it's typically that psychological aspect that could take weeks to break. I know someone that stopped cold turkey (no patches or anything) a couple of months pack. It was pretty impressive since he had been smoking since he was like 10 or something like that.

Nope. I'm not the one that pays to get cancer, you know...

#49 Posted by MagusMaleficus (1007 posts) - 4 years, 10 months ago

I don't smoke tobacco or weed. I do drink a bit, though not as much as I did in high school and college. I mostly drink wine with dinner on occasion, and have a beer or two when I'm out with friends. No more waking up in strange places and puking my guts out.
