I've recently started listening to all the old 90's songs I used to listen to as a little kid, and it makes realize how sucky todays music is. i already know everyone says that, but it really is true. i remember listening on the radio today and some pitbull song was playing with some moron autotuned voice and it sounds so stupid compared to the songs back then.
Do you still listen to 90's songs?
I still love Nirvana, although I only listen to them when I put it on random ,so yeah?
" I still love Nirvana, although I only listen to them when I put it on random ,so yeah?lol oopsWait your complaining about nonsense autotuned music then you praise Effel 65!?!?"
I love 90's music. I'm a child of that era, and I listened a bit of everything ranging from punk rock Nirvana to pop music No Doubt to Notorious BIG and Tupac, the coast-to-coast kings of hip-hop.
A lot of 90s music was bad, to the point that I'd say that it had just as many misses as the 00s. That more or less applies to every decade since the invention of...music, I guess. Keep in mind that for every Beethoven there most likely was ten 18th century equivalents of "insert bad group here".
" I'll be listening to Dookie when it is the 90s all over again in 2090. "Well great, now I have to learn how to play the bass in Longview.
I'm Blue is awesome!

also nirvana is terrible FYI and I grew up in the 90's
I listen to stuff from all decades, 90's included. But, the 90's are my favorite for alternative music.
Alot of 90's music falls under the 'so bad that its good' category. So therefore about half the music on my walkman is from the 90's (seriously, the new walkmans are so damn freaking good).
I hate when people say music today isn't good. Your entire reason is you turned on the radio and heard a song with autotune. That would be like saying 90's music sucked because you turned on the radio and heard Brittany Spears. But to stay on topic, the 90's had Radiohead, the Smashing Pumpkins and grunge so yeah, it was awesome.
"... i remember listening on the radio today and some pitbull song was playing with some moron autotuned voice and it sounds so stupid compared to the songs back then..."Auto Tune is to this generation as bell bottoms were to my parent's generation and neon spandex or big hair is to my generation. I was born in the 80s but got into music in 90s during Jr. High and High School. I love the random 90s song that comes on the radio! Just yesterday I was rocking out on the way to work (at 5:30 AM!) to "I can never be your woman". Prodigy Firestarter will always get an automatic bump in the volume department when I hear it as will Dynamite Hack "Boyz in the Hood" God that was a great cover song!
The majority of my favorite music is from the 90's. Not to mention the Red Hot Chili Peppers are my favorite band of all time.
I was a teen/young adult in the 90's so that's all 'my music'. StP, Soundgarden, Porno for Pyros, Alice in Chains, Bush, Smashing Pumpkins...hell yeah I still listen to 90's music.
I'm thinking that everyone who says music sucks today must get all their music from the radio. With how easy it is to get music out there now it's probably more varied than it's ever been.
My 90's nostaliga is me hating everything I hear on the radio because of all the time I spent on the school bus and if they play that one Ace of Base song again I'm going to stab somebody.
It's all good! My pet peev is auto tune, Coldplay prime example decent songs but fuck me that dude can't sing a note.

"That's the thing, I firmly believe that the major problem with music today is that mainstream radio is catering to a very specific formula rather than the shotgun blast of music that even 2000 had and back. If you want new, good music, it's not with major labels on the radio; it's independent on the internet.
ofcourse.. the greatest music came from the 90s
I've noticed that people on this forum take absolutely every opportunity given to them to whine about music today and claim x decade was so much better.
All the time. I cannot get enough Soundgarden (although they had a lot of 80s stuff too), Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots...Okay, pretty much just grunge, but grunge was totally a 90s thing.
There's a lot of good music being made today. Not everything is autotuned. Sure, the radio is full of that stuff, but there's always been a ton of shit on the radio. As you get older and your tastes mature you find less and less appealing music on the radio, but you still have that nostalgia for what you heard as a kid. This same discussion was happening 10 years ago, and 10 years before that. In 10 years it will still be happening.

...Yeah, that's the stuff. "
I was just a little kid in the 90's but some of my favourite bands/music are from then... The Breeders, Pixies, Portishead, Sonic Youth etc.
Also, if you search hard enough, there's plenty of great new bands (although not as good as the majority of 'classics'....)
Today's music is awesome, it just takes a bit of effort to find. But I really enjoy 90s music as well.
Every time I think of 90s music, I think of:
