Half your age plus 7 or the 2 year rule.
Still is ok undr both sets
Do you think it's wrong for 18 year old to date 16 year old?
I've seen both guys and girls 16 of age date 18 year olds, nothing wrong with it at all. But I would say it is rather pointless to have the relationship when that 18 year old goes off to college and experiences that... why would they want to still hang out with somebody who is two years younger, still in high school and can't do anything legally considered "adult."
In California there's a two year age gap clause, so an 18 year old with a 16 year old is only an infraction and not felony statutory rape. In many states the age of consent is much lower, for instance in New Jersey the age of consent is 16, and in Arkansas it's fetus, but only if the fetus is your cousin." You can go to jail for that Only if you're over 18! "

Its weird for you to be dating a girl who is 16 when you are 18 because she is a youth and you are an adult, unless the age of majority where you live is 19-21 in which case its fine.
However, assuming its 18, you are dating a child technically, which is weird. If it was one year, thatd be different, but with two years thats 1-2 grades below you. I guess if you are both in highschool its fine.
Anyways, the actual 2 year difference is really nothing at all, people date with age differences much larger than that later in life of course, its just that she is 16. If she was 17 and you were 19, thatd be fine, since she is practically an adult at that point.
So I guess tough it out =P, Its weird for people that don't know you, but if you are both in highschool or whatever, its fine. (If you are a loser who dropped out of highschool and are dating some junior girl, your a major creeper). Also a word of advice: careful when you graduate, because all of a sudden you aren't going to be around as much in her life, so theres a good chance of breakup~
" No. Not really. Age is just a number. That girl is probably more mature then you are. "That must be the same line that 40 year old teachers use when they get with their students.
Depends what you mean with dating?
Snogs and holding hands is fine, anything else might be a bit too sketchy and blinded by teen love etc.
I recommend it! But just try not to get annoyed when her maturity level isn't at the same as yours. My last girlfriend was 17 when i was 19 when we first dated.
I know/knew some high school freshman that dated/are dating high school seniors. Now that's just dumb.
I think it depends on if you were dating her before you turned 18. In other words, how long has this relationship been going on? Have you known her for longer than your dating life? Or was this a very recent hook up? If it's the latter, then while I don't believe it's "wrong" I do think it presents unnecessary problems. If you're out of high school and you meet a girl still in high school, then tip your hat and move on. There are plenty of nice high school graduates out there. Additionally, why set yourself against that contained source of competition? High school girls do nothing but hang out with high school boys for the better part of the day. Women who've completed that portion of their education might be moving on to college or in the work place where the number of available men can vary significantly. While it's true that age means less the older you get, when you are still school age, even a year can mean a lot. If you add in the influence her peer group can have on the relationship, I believe it's more trouble than it's worth. Of course, if she's 16 and out of high school then I don't believe it matters at all assuming she has accepted the roll of an independent adult despite still legally being a minor.
" That's like asking if it's wrong for a 32 year old to date a 30 year old. Perspective, man! "That's completely different. By the age of 25, you should be pretty mature. When you're 16 you still have a lot to learn.
That being said, It's not weird.
" Who gives a shit about age? Most parents have 3 - 5 years between their ages so 2 years is very reasonable. "Well age matters less when you get older. 26 and 21 is a lot different than 20 and 15 (that girl could be just out of eighth grade).
