Poll Do you use a screensaver? (155 votes)
I didn't even realise that Win 7 had screensavers until 15 mins ago D:

The age of screensavers have come and gone.
Just like we no longer have desktop Encarta with Mind Maze...
Yes and no meaning, my screen turns to black if I am away from my PC for more than 5 minutes. No animations or pictures, so it's not really a screensaver in the traditional sense. The monitor powers down after 10 minutes of non-use.

Not really sure that's a considered a screensaver. Well, at very least, Windows doesn't consider it to be a screensaver.
Nope, I turn my monitors off at night/etc.
Ever since LCDs and other monitors started booting almost instantly, screensavers became pretty redundant.
I have always used one and probably always will. I just like them. It's a nice transition to me from monitor being on to screensaver (3 mins no activity) to off (5 mins no activity).
Takes less take to 'wake' from a screensaver than it does from being off, so if I step away and catch it in the 2 minute window, it's more convenient for me.
Also there are some awesome looking screensavers out there.
My monitor turns off after about 10 minutes of not being used. The only person I know that uses one is my mom and she just has it set up to where its a slideshow of all her pictures.
@equitasinvictus: Oh man - Desktop Encarta...brings back some memories..
Yeah, 3D Text with the clock. I can see the time from my bed without having to find my phone, which is handy.
Also it provides just enough light at night so the room isn't pitch black.
LOL no. I don't even use them at work. The screen just goes off for power saving mode after some time but even my desktop at home is like 30 minutes so it never hits it.
My monitor turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity. Does that count?
Non.
Screen locks after 10 minutes and the monitor turns off. Maybe I'd still use screensavers if there were any worth using!
I would totally use this one if it still existed in Windows 7. I was mesmerized by it as a kid, because occasionally the text "OpenGL" would be floating in a corridor, and I thought it was some secret message that the computer was trying to get me to open some file named "GL."
I usually turn my monitor off if I'm going to be away for a while, but I have it set to use the Ribbons screen saver in Windows 7.
None right now but if I did...
Nope. I use my computer to much for it to show up and by the time I stop using it I just turn it off.
@equitasinvictus: So much time spent with Mind Maze...
The laptop I'm on lets me turn off the screen completely, so that's what I do. If I'm on another computer, I'll just put it to sleep. The screensaver lived and died with After Dark.
