Do you wear socks at home?

On occasion if it's unbearably cold, but for the most part, no; I have floors that are far too slippery and slipping, falling and landing on a wood surface sucks.

I usually keep my socks on. I never wear socks to bed, however. If I'm even a little too warm at night I can't sleep. Having bare feet helps with temperature regulation.

We have pets in the house. First morning I woke up and stepped in something was the last time I went without socks.

I have stone tile floor, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too cold for me to go barefoot; Bare feet also make it dirty faster.

I said yes. only because I sometimes do. It depends on my mood. Usually, no. I wear a monkey suit all day, and socks still feel like I am in those damned dress shoes. Also I have a joint problem where I need a lot of freedom of my feet after being crmmed in those shoes. I am fairly famous for wearing flip flops in winter.

Hell yeah. My family has always kept the house freezing, even in summer, with the a/c, so with hard floors it's cold. Also we often have people walking around in shoes, or sandals, so the floor often feels kinda dirty, so to keep my feet feeling clean I keep socks on.

If I don't have to I almost never wear socks.

However when I lived in a much colder place I did wear them alot more often.

Yes, because Canada, and also my toenails are fucked up so I wear socks to save the embarrassment and to save people reminding me that my feet are ugly.

I assume the people that wear socks around the house, are the same people that wear pants to bed. IT AIN'T NORMAL.

Almost half of you are crazy. If you don't wear socks inside, why do you wear shoes outside?

So I can walk around without worrying about stepping on shit. If you can't be barefoot in your own home, where can you be barefoot? A life where I can't let my feet breathe once in a while is a life not worth living.

Man I don't know why but everything you're all saying is grossing me out.

When i wake up and get dressed after showering in the morning i tend to go bare foot till i need to head out. When i get home i usually just leave them on until i think about it (like when reading this thread) and then become conscious of it and have to take them off. So most of the time i don't but still do a large minority of the time.

Unless I'm leaving my street I'm barefooted. This includes my backyard, driveway etc

My feet want to enjoy freedom.

But then I have to do a separate load of laundry every week, not exactly good for water conservation.

Socks off as soon as I walk in the door. Socks are terrible.

I really don't get how you Americans wear shoes in your damn house. The floors must be filthy! Unless you like.. switch shoes when you get home? That sounds exhausting.

Never. I have a pool outside so I usually just transition from barefoot, to flip flops to barefoot etc.

My likelihood to go without socks is highly related to what kinds of socks I'm wearing. If they're white, cotton socks, I'll probably leave them on. Dress socks don't breathe as well so they have to go.

I have to elsewise my toes get too cold on account of my chilly apartment. I also wear insulated slippers.

I would've guessed this would be overwhelming leaning towards "No" but to my surprise I was in the minority.

Socks are comfortable to me. And I have taken to wearing the thick black ones, I'm probably the only person in the world who thinks they look good.

It's shoes I have trouble with, having been forced to wear safety boots most of my days. I like even getting those nice North Face sneakers off these days as soon as I am done needing them on.

You do go through a lot of socks this way though...
