Does anybody here still use Gamespot?

I dont like the community on GS, Well at least on SW. People flame you if you make a simple grammar error. No one listens to logic, every one has on fanboy goggles. I have been posting there less and less. I have been coming here more often then I used to but I dont really like the way the forums are set up right now. There is nothing wrong with GS other than the mods and community.

Occassionally, I haven't really read any of their reviews in ages though. The last one I read was Condemned 2, which was a very sad attempt at being funny.

I did this morning, the i slept and then i re-discovered Giant Bomb.

I got banned, so no. (fuckin stupid mods). sometimes for news, but i can't exactly talk to people. All right around the time Jeff got fired. What a great time to move on.

I got a 7 day suspension today. I done with that place anyway. The  community sucks.  I got banned for telling someone to **** off, with the stars, I didnt even use one letter of the word. The community is more worried about bashing you for misspelling a word then they are responding to a topic. I post at a few forums and have never met more assholes in one place, System wars. That used to be the only forum worth posting in. I was in a best fighter topic and said I didnt like brawl because I wasnt 12 anymore and got modded for trolling. WTF, trolling how? I seriously hate that place. Never in my life have I wanted to kill someone because of the internet except there. oh, did I say I hated the community?

I briefly check their homepage here and there for any news, but I don't even look at their forums or anything anymore.

I use both places, I go to GS for reviews and I want to get a banner into a gamespace. But the community is way better here, problem is it's lame to get started with a  social network all over again.

Any thing is better than the GS community. There are a few cool people but most have left already."

Yes i still use gamespot i like the forums n is the only forum with a system wars board.

I'm just bumping this to say that as soon as i came here i purposely got myself banned from Gamespot.

I ended up there looking for some artwork, but the site confuses the heck out of me!

I used to visit Gamefaqs quite a bit, so technically yes since they use the same forums. But I never really spent much time one Gamespot side beyond reading some reviews

I don't use any gaming news sites anymore. I just browse forums.

Edit: actually I do visit eurogamer for some articles and reviews, I think they're consistent, I liked their digital foundry as well

I do use gamefaqs' board every once in a while, some of them could be more active than GiantBomb when it comes to individual games.

Probably won't visit it for another 6 months, now. I visit IGN just as frequently. All I visit now is NeoGAF, GB, and Wired GameLife.

Gamespot, what is a gamespot? Hold on... googling... wiki page... firing Gerstmann... why would you fire Gerstmann?
 
Hahaha! I go to IGN and Giant Bomb over Gamespot. I don't like Gamespots tone, nor their shows. The only times I go there, are to hop over to Gamefaqs. Besides all the cool people came to Giant Bomb.

I listen to the Hotspot still.  It's a great podcast. 

I left when Jeff got canned and everyone who made the site cool left with him.

I enjoy their stage show for E3. I tune in every year.

I was boycotting them for several years after they canned Jeff. But now they have new owners and management, and so I recently started listening to the Hot Spot again just to see what it was like now. Wasn't too bad... I still like Brendan Sinclair and Justin Calvert, but obviously the Bombcast is where the Magic is at now.

I just left after my account was banned unjustly and there's no way I'll be going back there. I've only had a membership on this site for a day and already I can tell that these boards are much more entertaining than gamespots.

I went to Gamespot after E3 2010 to look for clips from their stage show (which they use to set up nicely) and found it difficult to navigate this year. So i'll probably never go back from here on out.

I hate most game sites so, no, I don't. Ever. 1Up and Kotaku are about the only other sites I bother with outside of Giant Bomb and I think 1Up is just for the podcasts.

I check all gaming sites at night to check for news..

no. in fact i can't use any forums that allow signatures since using the Whiskey Sites.

I still occasionally lurk the GS off topic forum.  I joined in 2006 and have 7000 posts.

For news and reviews sure. I'm cornered off from the community side of things though..with a few dozen bans attached to my IP. Not like I really care mind you.

i check it out once in awhile for news/impressions/reviews, but thats it.
