I just watched his show and I thought the same exact thing, he shows the whole fucking world what the person has done, imagine going into a store and someones like "HEY DIDNT YOU HAVE A KID WITH AUTISM AND BEAT IT?!"
I'm with CitizenKane. I watched a few minutes of his show, and his advice was some of the more ignorant bullshit I've ever heard coming from a "professional". I feel sorry for anyone who actually comes to him for help.

This is a possibility, my old health teacher in high school made us watch recorded shows of his all the time. They seemed like they should've been married. She was a retard with much of the egoistic "I'm smarter than you" status of Dr. Phil when in reality she was dumb as heck.

He's not evil and comparing him with Jerry Springer is actually giving Springer more credit.
The fact is having your problems shown to the entire world is shock therapy in cleaning out your closet. However I still think hes a hypocrite since real therapist are supposed make you realize your own problems so you can face them in private (patient confidentiality).
Imagine an MD doctor show with the same format. Your dianosis is shown to the entire world; and much worse, you have to wait until after the commercials to find out you have cancer. Dr Phil isn't evil, save that word for someone that deserves it like Satan; he's just pathetic.
