I'm afraid this might seem a little self-important, but we mentioned it on this week's podcast, so here's some images of our newly soundproofed recording space. That's pro-grade stuff that Vinny and I spent a good chunk of Tuesday morning haphazardly stapling to the walls. I'm told by people with more discerning audio palates than myself that it had a distinct impact on the audio quality. I just like the way it makes that room look. Now all we need are some gold records to fill in the checkerboard pattern we've got going!

My mind is broken!!
I'll never be able to listen to the podcast without thinking that nice little cosey area, now looks like satans corner.
hahahah. That is such awful craftsmanship. so funny you guys are awesome. so this is where the bombcast lives
Awesome... but damn that is a small space. How you guys manage to sit in those tiny chairs for two hours (and still be funny) is beyond me.
I like what you've done with the place!
Actually it's kinda crazy and random... I hope there was a good reason each piece went where it did. Oh, and I always thought the quality of the bombcasts were great, who told you guys otherwise?
Those chairs look terribly uncomfortable for the 2+ hours you guys have to sit there recording. Although, I guess 2 hours isn't really that long... it just seems like it when you're listening to the podcast.
Wait a minute... was there not a break in the last podcast? I don't remember hearing the break music.
Jeez, I love how yo ujust took a luittle cranny and made it into a podcast studio xD Soundproofing=SEXY!!!!!
"Should those things not be all over the walls instead of some (seemingly) random patches here and there?"
It would give better quality by a bit, but as long as most of it is covered it'll work.
You can call it the podcast room alllll you like. It looks like a darkly lit room where four men sit very closely to each other and keep their mouths very close to phallicly shaped electrical devices...
Man, that's one sorry space. I can't imagine how you guys can do a two hour podcast there without wanting to hang yourself by the end of it. If it's part of your schtick now, then keep it, but otherwise I'd recommend adding a lot more light. And plants.
The best way to apply such a limited amount of treatment would have been to put it in the corners haha. And that isn't going to do anything for sound proofing that room. Though, it should help cut down on the nasty frequencies that small rooms like that have.
I like what it did to the sound of the podcast but could ou please tell us why they were installed in such a random pattern...
