Is it normal to forget about shit i did years ago? Or forget the plot of shows, and movies i've watched a year ago? Does this happen to everyone, or does it depend on the person's memory?
Episodic memory loss.

I forgot why I'm here. I guess I'm still on subject.
If you know you are on subject then you don't forget why you are here now do you.
I forgot this was here.
Anyway, I forget a lot of things from when I was a kid. It's pretty hazy until something specific I associate with a moment is closely regarded by my consciousness.
...what?
Well this thread has gone well...
Yeah I remember the most useless things and forget simple random things all the time.
I'd say something about this, but given that I'm nearly 400 years old, my opinions on the matter may be a bit skewed.
@Winternet:lol well done.
I sometimes forget things that happened minutes ago. Work on things that would improve your memory. Put down the controller and pick up a book.
That's my problem with finishing games. Drop 80+ hours into something like Fallout 3, get burnt out and quit for a month or two, and then try to pick up where I left off: can't do it. It's like picking up play with someones save file who I don't even know.
It's pretty common. The human memory is pretty shitty. 10 minutes after hearing someone talk I think you already forget 50% of what they say or something crazy like that. When it comes to TV shows, games and books that I haven't interacted with in awhile I remember most of what happened, but if I didn't then just go online to get a quick refresher on some stuff. Game of Thrones for example is very bad at bringing back characters that weren't mentioned for 300 pages, or sometimes a whole book, so I feel the need to wiki certain characters just to get a quick refresher.
We can't bust heads like we used to. But we have our ways. One trick is to tell stories that don't go anywhere. Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for m'shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt. Which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Gimme five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where was I... oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
@Knave:
Everyone forgets something sometimes. You could be going through things that is making your memory worse. You could be stressed, depressed, anxious or you could be not eating as well as you should, trying to do to much, or not getting enough sleep. I doubt you're some extraordinary case (though there is no guarantee). I suggest just trying to take better care of yourself mentally and physically.

400 moon years, maybe. That's like, what, 12 Earth years?
Actually, that's equivalent to 190 Brad Bucks, now that I do the math.
@Ravenlight:
Actually, we use the Gregorian calendar up here. Using actual Lunar calendars can be a bit...confusing, to say the least. (Oh, and to clarify: I'm 374.)

So Pope Gregory XIII was a moon-man plant, huh? Control the church and control the Earth, I guess.
I'm going to lie down in my fallout shelter now where you moon beams can't reach my brainwaves.
@Ravenlight:
Nothing that sinister. It's more like it was just more convenient to adopt that system, even if it made a couple of our idioms fairly useless.

Human memory just sucks, plain and simple. Even the best of us forget a lot of things, it's a normal part of human psychology. I'd say you don't have much to worry about, but talk to a doctor if it's a major concern.
Not really a human thing, some people like me have really good long term memory. My short term on the other hand is much worse.
Because every episode might be someone's first episode so you have to make sure characters repeat key information in order to not alienate new viewers.
Wait, what?

That's just what I'd expect someone with knowledge of a moon-man invasion of Earth to say.

Just what I'd expect someone to say if they weren't educated in intergalactic law.
Relations between Sol III and it's satellite are strictly intragalactic. Nice try, though.
@Ravenlight:
Relations? What relations? Can't have relations with you guys until you develop reasonable space travel. Star Ocean Law, baby.
