Yes. On the Twilight Princess Social Board on GFAQs, way way back before TP came out, there was a user who insisted on posting in every single topic with a reall awful, superior attitude. He was way into bass guitars and insisted that bass made every song come together, like it was the glue that allowed the earth to continue rotating. In threads which would have a matter of opinion (like "Hey, I saw a movie today, it was really good!"), he would often disagree for the sake of it and make fun of the topic creator.
Eventually I got pretty sick of his constant spewing of bullshit and I called him out on it. Specifically, I called him an elitest, which was the most grave insult that you could hurl on these boards. It went farther than that, but he ended up getting really pissy, and then a few days later making a topic asking if he really was, and saying he was sorry, that he was having money problems and needed a place to vent sometimes, how we were all his best friends, so on and so forth.
He continued to be a prick, so I left. On the request of some of the people who I still talk to from the board, I visited a community that consisted of members of the Twilight Princess Social Board, and the first thing I saw was a drawing thread (you know, "Post and I'll draw you!"), and this fucker had posted in there saying, "I demand a ridiculous bass solo!" This was late last year.
So I never went back to that place. Also I was 11.
