Basically everything in this thread. I just don't like words going out of date overall. I'LL USE ALL OF MY GROOVY VOCABULARY!

I find that "Douche-fuck-eat-a-dick" is not used enough anymore. Pinky/thumb out and waggle goes hand in hand.

.....and people look at me funny when I say it.....

Seriously though, rad.

Is "cool" out of date yet? That seems to be the longest running socially acceptable slang term in history.

I also say radical a bunch. I'll even do the pinky/thumb hand gesture thing from time to time!

But not both at the same time. That would be seriously...UN-radical?

Far out.

I feel like I'm outdated saying that, because everyone around me uses "awesome" now.

@Kerned: "Right On" is out of date? i hear it all over the place.

I get that a lot too.

Also, "nice" and "sweet"

Oh good, it looks like I single-handedly brought it back. Word up.

Is "yo" as a greeting or alternative for "hey" an acceptable answer?

Bumfodder.

#70 Posted by Sparklykiss (1844 posts) - 6 months, 6 days ago

I say stuff like you're joshin, bee's knees, cat's pajamas...
Also use gnarly, rad, amazeballs, and neat/neato. Some of them don't feel dated, but these have always been things that I've said.

What I need to stop doing is saying derpy and making the troll face when saying problem.

I've been using "totally" since that was a common thing. That one I can't seem to let go of.

#74 Posted by ProfessorK (570 posts) - 6 months, 6 days ago

Idk if it's out dated but I use cool beans quite often.

This isn't "nobody uses them", because undoubtedly there is some asshole who thinks it's 'funny' to say out of sight or groovy, it's more of "nobody uses them ENOUGH in regular conversation".

Like Radical. Not enough people say radical anymore. Or use the cool radical hand signal (pinky/thumb out and waggle your hand, of course)

WHAT SAY YOU, GIANT BOMB COMMUNITY?

@Truckalicious said:

Pinky/Thumb thing = hang loose. Not rad. The combo is a thing...but the shaka isn't 'radical' fool, they just go together well like wine and cheese or something.

So I guess saying 'hang loose' is looking out of date then.

Maybe you should start a new trend and actually sign 'radical' when and say 'hang loose' - cross your fingers and draw the square root sign like this dude and say "hang loose". Now you're rad and boffin. You can thank me later when the chicks see it and swarm you.

"Gnarly" Still say it sometimes and get weird looks.

#85 Posted by benpicko (1574 posts) - 6 months, 6 days ago

I've never heard anybody say most of the words in this thread.

#86 Posted by notdavid (563 posts) - 6 months, 6 days ago

Nifty. I say it all the god damn time.

#87 Posted by Little_Socrates (5473 posts) - 6 months, 6 days ago

I say several of the things in this thread! Never gotten a weird look saying "rad," though, and only one super anti-rap kid ever called me out on "dope."

The one I was gonna post is "That's so pringles," which was really only ever slang in the FGC, but since I wasn't around to use it in its heyday, I'm bringing it back now.

#88 Posted by arjybarjy (90 posts) - 6 months, 6 days ago

Is saying "BOOM" new or old but I tend to put it before or after something exciting/impressive.

#89 Posted by Animasta (13005 posts) - 6 months, 6 days ago

@MoleyUK: I meant more of that they say it just to be quirky and clever instead of just saying it because it's a cool word or whatever.

This is the only true answer as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, this is my answer too.

Although, for a long time I was into using the term "wicked cool".
