Just curious.

For myself, its HAL-9000 being shut down in 2001: A Space Odyssey... Everything from the script to direction is just perfect.

It's honestly too hard to pick my favorite scene, but out of 2007-08 I would say... The scene in Lars and the Real Girl where Lars revives the "dead" stuffed bear that was hanged by a telephone cord. I thought that was fantastic.

...and of course the Joker's magic trick in the Dark Knight was classic!

It's not the greatest all around movie ever made, but when Chingachgook takes down Magua in the Daniel Day Lewis version of Last of the Mohicans.

Absolutely awesome build up to a great fight scene.

As far as action movies go, nothing can top the Teahouse shootout in "Hard Boiled" in my book.

That's a great scene. I like your David Bowman icon as well.

Some of my favorites include The Joker's magic trick from The Dark Knight, the milkshake scene from There Will Be Blood, and the end scene from Chinatown.

It's extremely hard to pick one scene, even from just that movie, but I'd say the one you selected would probably be one of the best. Of course, I'd have to include the bit directly after he shuts him down and the true nature of their mission is revealed to Dave. That shot with the light from the monitor flickering off of his helmet as he watches (demonstrated in your icon) is such an astonishing shot.

Ditto. I'm man enough to admit that scene made me cry the first time I watched the movie. Hell, I still get a little choked up. Now, excuse me while I go build a log cabin with my bare hands...

In Children of Men, that long one-shot scene towards the end was amazing.

I got asked this awhile ago and i could not think of one, then a few days after i was lookin through my dvds for somthing to watch and it hit me!

It is a scene that made my eyes and jaw open so wide they hurt, i actually stopped breathing and froze.
My fave scene in a film to date, has to be one of the final scenes in the film The Good The Bad and The Ugly
where 'The Ugly' [Eli Wallach] is running through the graveyard trying to find the grave. The music was awsome the direction was georgous and his laughter and the way he ran [almost skipping] just made you see this whole new side to the character and i just thought 'Kawaii'
Peace and Adios
[Dave]

Also, the scene at the end of Pulp Fiction, in the diner... Very powerful and brilliant acting.

Near the end of Léon after he gets shot in the back by Stansfield then hands him a pin and says "From Mathilda" then Stansfield opens Léon's jacket and he has a ton of grenades strapped to himself.

Ka-boom!
