Favourite side-scrolling game. - Off-Topic

Wondering what peoples favourite side-scrolling games are? Being a huge Mario fan my number 1 is probably Super Mario Bros. on the NES which I used to get to play when my friend stayed up the street from me with his grandparents, good times :)

Agent Sam was pretty awesome too.

Side scrollers are awesome. Make more 2D side scrollers, please. Super Metroid, maybe. Metroid Fusion was also pretty damn good. But... Shadow Complex. Yes, right there.

Mario and Castlevania series are probably my favorite. I do like Metal Slug, but the series is way to hard for my liking unless its a MAME rm and not playing with legit credits.
