FBI opens it's "vault"

"The Vault is our new electronic reading room, containing more than 2,000 documents that have been scanned from paper into digital copies so you can read them in the comfort of your home or office. 

Included here are more than 25 new files that have been released to the public but never added to this website; dozens of records previously posted on our site but removed as requests diminished; and files from our previous electronic reading room. "

Of all the files on there, this one is by far the most fascinating.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that up until the end of last year the only way to get documents like these were from WIkileaks and similar sources?

I think you will find that the FBI has only released approx. 2000 documents. Obvious that they will release more in due time.

I actually checked this Vault, and am not impressed; the documents I searched were basically filled with newspaper clippings and articles, and some essays by University professors. Don't expect them to release anything important or sensitive.

The FBI's 'vault' only has 2000 documents? Or is this the vault from last Tuesday?

Why did I read the title of this thread only to subsequently hear "...zip" in Vinny's voice?!

i am a little surprised at the lack of response to the two documents  MrMcgillicutty   linked earlier.  The one about the "area 51" alien flying saucer thing was at least interesting to read.  And Hitler in Argentina? Sounds crazy but there is a legitimate report in the FBI's vault about it.  I do agree with Ventura on one thing though:  once something that is classified happens and its said and done with, it should be released to the general public.  If at least to just satisfy my craving for the lack of huge government  conspiracy  movies lately.

If that's the most fascinating file, then I won't bother reading the rest.
