Having never listened to Rush besides for that song posted here, I ask, do all their songs sound like background music for an 80's cartoon?

Well, yeah, that was definitely a dub-over because Rush is awesome and they would never do that.

I agree. For fans of Rush, you already know this, but listen to Yes, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, early Genesis, etc....

No, that's not cheesy bass twanging. That's just bass that isn't played with a pick. Difference.

Does this suit your pickness more?

I don't like Rush, but this is a troll thread. Lockity lockity.

Also, I don't quite get the 80's cartoon reference. I get that the music sounds dated, but when I imagine Spiderman fighting bad guys, this music doesn't fit at all.

It doesn't have to be Spider-Man. Just picture an action scene from an 80's cartoon or Miami Vice or something. It's a perfect fit.

I don't mean to hate on it without listening to it, but that is easily the worst fidelity in the history of the world. What's with all the fuzz?

See Rush do what? Suck? Or is it the fancy little thing he did with his guitar? But your right on either count, they will never do either, I don't think Alex Lifeson needs to spin his guitar around to garner respect from his fans. Unlike SOME PEOPLE OMG!

I'd have thought comments like: 'I honestly don't care. A bass is a bass is a bass' ,'Anything for a spin' and the video being a 30-odd second clip of Petey spinning and nothing else would have given it away earlier.

That little twirly thing he does just seems like a gimmick to me. It would be cooler if he could maintain the same level of energy through the whole show the way these guys do:

Sorry, stage antics don't work on me. I generally don't even notice what the hell is going on on stage. Also:
This is a better display of constant energy. Even so, this topic has spun in directions that I had hoped it wouldn't.

He always does. He and the lead singer might be hopped up on something.

This is actually one of their calmest performances. The Letterman show specifically asked them to be less destructive for this concert.

Okay, in order to switch gears from the "Can Rush spin in circles while playing?" or "Is Fallout Boy Better than Rush?" or whatever the hell went on here, here's another video in the "Shreds" Series.

This one . . . Santana!

I favorited the Metallica Shreds video a little while back.  I always crack up at the choppy guitar in the beginning.

Also, in the Santana video, the dude at the drums -- hilarious.
