It made me laugh, at least.

Fake edit: If someone could make this link clickable (hyperlink, is that what it's called?), I would greatly appreciate it. Nothing seems to work on the POS tablet I'm on at the moment.

American news is so ridiculous! It would be really hilarious if it wasn't mostly sad.

I'm sorry, what? Oh, Fox! You're so mysterious! And silly.

Lay off the strange leaves.

#15 Posted by TyCobb (1973 posts) -

I read it as "tables" and then was staring at the table behind Smith trying to figure out if it was really "that" big. 30 seconds later I noticed the tablets.

I can see it's use for Weather obviously. But it does lend to a cool sort of atmosphere. I still think FOX News is garbage though.

I see your point but to me, It just looks like tiny people sitting in front of normal sized desks.

You need giant touch screens to tell people over 60 about the Liberal shutdown of the US federal government.

I'll give you a hint, "news" worldwide is sad and ridiculous. The "media" companies that give us our daily "news" are fucking jokes at this point. To limit your distaste to just the media in the USA is being a bit close-minded don't you think?

#27 Posted by golguin (4045 posts) -

That is amazing. Need parodies of it now.

Giant tablets with giant fonts, just like Fox's geriatric viewership needs.

At least three words in this thread's title could use scare quotes.

Because when I want to work more efficiently, I use touchscreens. Because that's WAY faster, right ? Also, fuck controllers, the Kinect is where it's at.

I don't actually care that much, I never watch TV at all anymore.

#35 Posted by Dalai (7070 posts) -

Maybe they're just tiny people?

I don't think he(or she) meant the news part really.
In this context I would assume that the "ridiculous" part was, you know, the big tablets we're all talking about?

#37 Posted by mlarrabee (3061 posts) -

We're reporting about Fox News' using tablets in the newsroom?

What are we, Fox News?

Shepherd Smith is a totally legit news anchor and not just a GOP shill. Just thought you should know. Look up his stuff on YouTube.

@amikron: I hear news that aren't based on viewer numbers or hits are alright. It's like they are actually trying to bring you news. #GoScandinavia

We need one of those tablets at Giant Bomb. The Pathfinder group's going to get out of that cave eventually. Why use paper maps when you can just load up PNGs? It will also give Rorie something to spill his drink on!

I vaguely remember some table display that was intended for tabletop gaming, it displayed maps on the surface and interacted with the pieces knowing where they were, and even knew which way they were facing. If I still played tabletop games, it'd actually be kinda cool to have.
