Fox Sueing WB over Watchmen Movie

Fox claims they still have the movie rights to "Watchmen" and that WB said (back in the 90's) if they ever made a "Watchmen" movie, they would pay Fox for the rights. Apparently they didn't do that and Fox is suing them. Fox hasn't accepted a cash settlement yet, right now they say that they want the movie to never be released. I only have a single reponse to this, FUCK YOU FOX! Their most successful movie this year was "Horton Hears a Who Gives a Crap".

I don't think they will stop the movie from being released thats a bluff .

I just don't buy it...I don't think anything will happen to the release date at all, but that's just my opinion.

To delay the release of the movie and have more negotiation power. The WB has to finish the movie in time for the release date and this will make that much harder."

The release won't get cancelled, FOX have been lazy by not speaking out sooner if they were going to.

Unless Fox has some sort of written evidence (that cannot be proven fake) they're fucked. Stupid Newscorp.

Well if FOX does indeed own the movie rights to The Watchmen then it's pretty stupid of WB not get this kind of thing settled right off the bat. In any case, I'm sure the movie is going to be released.

Fox are a bunch of inbred fucking morons. This is just stupid, of course I was always hazy about a movie of this book being made, no possible reason to think it could ever be that great, but the trailers kind of impressed me, I at least wanted to see how it turns out and was awaiting it...the way it looks , its done for good, thanks fox, thanks douchebags.

This isn't good for the fans or the movie, if the movie suffers from this crap, I will be very disappointed.

I bought the comic book and read it for the first time to prep myself for this movie. I really hope this doesn't affect it.

Me too. I'm only on Chapter 2 page 19 and it's the first "Graphic Novel"/ Comic I've ever read but I LOVE IT!

If Fox delays that movie they will become even more unpopular than they already are. That would be a pretty bad PR move.

They can say that all they like but realistically what does FOX gain from prohibiting the release of this movie (as it is they have already lost face for the claim) when quite clearly they could settle for a nice cut of what looks to be a vary lucrative pie. This is a scare tactic, FOX wants to get as much as they can out of WB and clearly losing some cash on a 100 million dollar investment is better than the entire thing being scraped which leaves them with only the option to pay up or lose everything.

I'm interested in this movie, so hopefully this doesn't delay it by too long.

WB has too much money invested in this so there might be a delay but at the end fox will settle out of court and get their money out of it without investing anything in it. Fox is just trying to use scare tactics in order to get the most money out of this.

This will probably delay the movie if it gets serious enough, however there is no way it will get cancelled.
