Free Screen Capture Software

I was using MSI's Afterburner program to record my screen and games in Windows 7 64-bit. It's a lot like Fraps, but free. Well, I tried using it in Windows 8 64-bit and it just isn't working. So now I'm looking for an alternative for Windows 8 and a free one for OSX too. I don't steal software so legitimately free, please.

Hypercam 2's pretty damn good.

Razer Gamebooster is in open beta... if you don't use the game optimizing stuff, it has a free video capture feature.

@djhicks1: Did you update Afterburner to version 2.3.0? I use Afterburner myself on Windows 8, but not Predator video capture though, but I don't see any reason for it to not work With Windows 8.

There's Dxtory as well, but I've always been using Fraps.

For OSX, QuickTime has a built in screen recorder, but I doubt it works well for games.

Dxtory and Afterburner are the only ones I know of

@FritzDude: I installed 2.3 after the previous version told me it was available. I was trying to record "metro/modern" games like Solitaire and Minesweeper. I set the hotkey as F12 and no matter when I hit it, nothing happened.
