I CAN'T CHOOSE.

I went with tots due to the fact that they come out of the oven nicer than fries which are often very disappointing out of it. Both are good deep fried however. One thing though, tots don't really have to have as much salt, but unsalted or too lightly salted fries are, again, quite disappointing.

Since I have no idea what "tater tots" are, I'll go with french fries.

#6 Posted by LordCrom (277 posts) -

I'm going to have to side with tater tots on this one.  I have french fries all the time, which makes having tater tots more of a rare delicacy to savor and enjoy. ("With a side of Fava Beans and a Nice Chianti") Bwhahahaha

Freedom Fries all the way homies!!!!!!!  lol

Home fries, they are the best of both worlds.

I only like french fries from mcdonalds when it's hot and ordered right there, otherwise it will taste like trash when you bring it home. Taters are actually quite good too, that's what I voted for. It's also exactly what I ate yesterday from taco time, really good taters.

What the hell are Tater Tots? I've always been aware of their existence, but never known what they are.

Enlighten me.

#11 Posted by HitmanAgent47 (8576 posts) -
@CandleJakk: It's also made from potatoes and taste a bit like hash browns. Except it's in a smaller size.
#12 Posted by CandleJakk (766 posts) -
@HitmanAgent47:
So they're kind of like ' croquettes'?
#13 Posted by HitmanAgent47 (8576 posts) -
@CandleJakk: I haven't ate croquettes before, taters looks like this.

What kind of terrible heathen would dare choose tater tots over french fries?

#16 Posted by shodan2020 (696 posts) -

French Fries FTW!

#17 Posted by Tireyo (6451 posts) -

Where are the curly fires? = - P

Easily French Fries. I like seasoning salt on them.

#18 Posted by rjayb89 (7729 posts) -

Man, I want some tater tots right now, but I want to just buy a batch of already made ones.

#19 Posted by kishan6 (1914 posts) -

Goddamnit i love both of them.

Onion Rings

#21 Posted by snoopdye (87 posts) -

Implying they were seasoned french fries? Then french fries. If not seasoned then some tater tots would be pretty badass....

#22 Posted by SJSchmidt93 (4899 posts) -

Good tater tots are better than average fries, but any fries, good or bad, are better than average tater tots.

So what's my answer? I don't fucking know.

#23 Posted by Capum15 (4996 posts) -

Both can be awesome.

I'd have to side with Tater Tots though.

#24 Posted by DeathByWaffle (652 posts) -

This isn't even close for me. The answer is obvious.

French Fries.

#25 Posted by Goly (843 posts) -

belgian fries! those belgians sure know how to make their fries.

#26 Posted by Dalai (7070 posts) -

In the purist sense (no seasoning, ketchup, etc.) I go tater tots. With seasoning, fries hands down.

#27 Posted by MikkaQ (10344 posts) -

French fries are awesome, and nothing goes better with a burger (other than onion rings, maybe, but they're tied. It's honestly such a hard choice everytime I get a burger).

#28 Posted by Slight (1 posts) -

French Fries are supreme...

TATER TOTS MOTHA FUCKAS!

Tots are better when made at home, so I picked that. Regular fries from restaurants/fast food joints blow them out of the water, though.

It depends.

French fries lunch, tater tots breakfast. I haven't had either in freaking ages.

#34 Posted by ThePhantomnaut (6201 posts) -

French fries.

#35 Posted by Djstyles92 (953 posts) -

so hard to choose!!!  I'm going with tater tots just because im so happy when I have them.

#36 Posted by MysteriousBob (6272 posts) -

Its not just a name difference. Chips are big fat and greasy- much better than puny American "French Fries".

I don't have a god damn clue what "tater tots" are.

#37 Posted by RoyalApe (16 posts) -

What type of French Fries?  Steak fries, crinkle cut, shoe string, waffle... the list goes on. The tater tot is just another form of fried potato after all...

With fries. That's what I eat when I raid the various munitions shacks that the Burger King has littered across the Earth.
#40 Posted by Grilledcheez (3957 posts) -

Really good fries beat a tater tot all day.  If we're talking out of a bag / frozen, then tater tots win.

Aren't croutons more like roasted bread rather than something made out of potatoes?
#42 Posted by habster3 (3600 posts) -

Depends, but overall, I would say Fries.

#43 Posted by PenguinDust (12629 posts) -

Tater Tots remind me of high school lunch so I choose them for nostalgia's sake.

Tots just taste better all around but onion rings dominate both of them.

Tater tots every single time
