Beat of luck with the healing, Patrick. Get some good rest and get well soon. Good job on wearing a helmet. Glad your head came out OK.

I'm hoping Patrick has to use some speech to text program for all of his articles. Could be laughable.

No kidding. Skull fractures aren't fun.

#167 Posted by FiestaUnicorn (1576 posts) -

That'll teach to not already be more man than machine. If anything he should already have the ability to transform himself into a bike so things like this wouldn't happen.

#168 Posted by erp78 (16 posts) -

Best of luck with your surgery and recovery, Tricky.

#169 Posted by Osaladin (2527 posts) -

Glad you were wearing a helmet, good luck with surgery and recovery!

#170 Posted by GreggD (4508 posts) -

I feel like being the dad type guy and saying that this is what you get for drinking and biking. Regardless, I hope he gets better soon.

#171 Posted by lostinthewired (24 posts) -

Get well soon, Patrick! Cant wait for you to get better and continue feeding us all those HOT SCOOPZ!!

#172 Posted by TrafalgarLaw (1146 posts) -

Normal clavicle (collar bone) fractures heal in about 3 weeks to a month. Seeing that surgery was needed, I think it was a major dislocation of the bone.

I think Patrick might be recovering for a month or two, with difficulties using one arm and all...

The good news is that collar bone fractures heal pretty nicely. But if pseudoarhtrosis occurs...it might compress brachial nerves and impede his arm functionality.

Get well soon Scoops.

Broken collar bone has to suck

#177 Posted by Nekroskop (2786 posts) -

God dammit, Patrick. Drinking and driving is not a good idea. Maybe now you have enough time to actually play Dark Souls instead of watching Let's Plays of it.

Get well soon.

Thank god for the afro cushioning the head impact.

Newborn infants can attest to that. And Patrick.

My dad broke his collarbone a couple of years ago, so I know how much it can affect your ability to do anything for a while. Here's to a speedy recovery!

I bike 5000 miles a year and I have never needed potholes to be marked. Maybe Patrick should get one of these.

#185 Posted by StrainedEyes (1326 posts) -

I broke my collar bone once but didn't need surgery. Just a sling for a month or so. Sucked.

You can get your mileage out of that $2000 for not paying for car insurances, gasoline/petrol etc.

Sorry, I'm just imagining someone saying "n=1" and then smirking. It temporarily drove me into a rage!
