Here's the deal. I have this school project that I forgot about, it's due tomorrow. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, I would just stay up till 3 and do it, but this certain project is different. We had to let a pile of grass clippings sit for two weeks and then explain what happened to them... anyone know what happens to grass when it rots??
Giantbomb. I need your help. (What happens when grass rots?)
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Scientifically, it can't perform photosynthesis anymore so it pretty much dies. Now, as for what happens, I'm not exactly sure what dead or rotting grass looks like, but I'm going to assume that it won't stay a fresh green color.
Think of what happens to a vegetable if left out. Something like that.
(Next time, do ya homework on time homeslice)
" I need detailed shit! Does it smell etc... lol, I know it's a long shot that anyone will know that specifically though... "How hard would it have been to grab a handful of grass and set it down somewhere? Don't get picky when people are trying to help you out of a jam. I'd say, if you have a yard waste bin, go stick your head in that. That'd be the best way to find out.
Dude, WTF? How hard is it to clump some grass into a pile and let it sit for two weeks? Its so easy the bacteria and oxygen does all the work for you... no offense, but if you cannot manage such a simple task, how do you expect to adapt to the real world out of school?
"Will people stop killing him for not doing it, the guy just forgot about it. "
Absolutly not. He did NOT complete the assignment and he should recieve the consequences for his actions which is a failing grade. I'm sorry to sound harsh, but how can a person grow and learn from his mistakes if he is not punished in some way. Its simple in this case. Do your work. Then you wont fail. Stop slacking and you will succeed. Slackers piss me off.
It will start decomposing from the bottom, as that is where the moisture will rest and if not moved, will stagnate, leading to odour. If it is on bare soil or be accessible to insects, they will take up residence and start eating it, in particular, worms. Worms will eat and convert it into compost matter over time. The bottom of the pile will be kind of slimey and certainly a brown/grey colour.
Hope I not too late and I hope that helps. Good luck.
