I'm planning to make a "Hitler is angry" video. I need a good, simple program to add subtitles. And I don't want a program to create any subtitle files, I want to add them to the actual video.
Thanks to anyone who can help. :)
Good program for adding subtitles to a video?

Now that I've edited this and added text to it, how do I save it to a new video-file??? All I find is "save as "ulead video studio project files". Please help!!!!
I checked up on what one of my favorite anime fan-sub group use over at Kiazoku Fansubs for One Piece. According to the [KaiserDragon]: SOURCE
"I use Aegisub it is a really nice tool made by the anime community. http://www.aegisub.net/ Heck notepad and wordpad can read .ass and .ssa scripts.
Sorta like SubStationAlpha but more up to date and nicer interface.
In Aegisub there is an automation feature, where you make a lua script and it does the effect for you(requires basic programming knowledge). or you can write it out if you so please(which I guess also requires programming knowledge).
.lua can be read by notepad and wordpad although I recommend using notepad++ or some other programming writer, just so you get those nice colors and it uses spaces correctly.
As for encoding, I use VDub to test stuff with, it is great for xvid.avi encodes as well.
But if you want to do *264.mkv or *264.mp4 there are better programs out. Not sure what yoda [fansubber] uses though, but http://x264.nl/ and http://www.doom9.org/are good resources for encoding. Again those programs are for quailty final encodes. If you just wanna encode to see how your effects look Vdub is simpler, however, aegisub can load the video and will refresh your changes in real time so you can press play and see it there perfectly fine."
If you want to see what can be done with the Aegisub program, just look for any early subbed One Piece episode on the web. Chances are they did it.
using that program, the subtitles file must be of SSA format so it can be embedded to the movie, and the popular files everywhere are either .srt or .sub ...... shit luck"
If it needs to be free try http://www.freewarefiles.com/DivXLand-Media-Subtitler_program_15945.html "
