I think it would be a cool feature on word. What do you think? Is there anything like this already out on the market?

There definitely is a grammar check. Now if you're talking about web browser or site specific grammar checks, I think that should be handled by the browser itself, by now. Maybe there's a Firefox extension for it already? If there isn't, there should be.

Word has spell check and grammar check built into it already.  Google Chrome has spell-check already built into it.  Firefox has an add-on for spell check.

Basically, it comes down to the fact that so many people on the internet have bad grammar/spelling, and it doesn't look like they even pay attention to their spell and grammar checks.  In turn, it means these are useless features in our society and should instead be replaced with .45 caliber bullets that shoot from your monitor every single time you fuck something up.  = D

Safari 4.0 also has it. Kind of hard to get away from it now.

I love browser based spell checking.  I've learned to spell a lot of words correctly since.

I think it's funny that you want a grammar check when you spelled the word "grammar" wrong. >_>

@Wolverine: I realize that. I was saying that you should use the tools it gives you instead of wanting new ones (ie. Spellcheck)

Yeah, I care more about spelling on the internet than grammar, mostly because I can still understand things w/o good grammar, but sometimes bad spelling just makes a thread unreadable.

I am very sorry to have to say this, especially to a new user, but I don't trust anyone who's name means 'Anonymous'.
Please don't do what I'd expect someone with that name to do.

Wolverine: Word and OpenOffice.org both have "Spelling and Grammar check". Red underline means the word is misspelled, and a green underline means you messed up your grammar.

Bad grammar can make it whole hell of a lot worse though.

You have a point, but I only get distracted if it's an extreme case of bad grammar.

The best grammar check is a decent education. If English isn't your first language, it can be forgiven.

Word is incapable of detecting "then" and "than" correctly, as well as a few other words I think.
